GMT aluminum bezel insert (back) color?

When did the color of the back of the insert change from red to blue? Year or model ref.

Did this mark a change in the production process? Why did it happen?

The rough guess is early in the 16750 range but no hard time.

The blue-back inserts arrived during the early 1980s.

GMT aluminum bezel insert (back) color?

So, red for 1675 and blue for 16750 in the early 1980s?

Early 1980s are red backs. They back side color switched sometime around the early 1980s to blue.
