Owners of service dialled watches may have the last laugh in 10-20 years’ time when those original dials rot away to nothing.

lol. a man can dream huh.

Thats what make Rolex special, 20 years from now the original dials will still look spectacular and the delta between them and service dials will only grow wider.

Yes, I guess one man’s spectacular is another man’s toast

So enjoy your watch OP and others regardless of whatever path you chose or choose.
I guess I see it differently like I said. When people get so fanatically about collecting there seems to be no enjoyment involved.

Everyone has something different they are fanatically about. Watches is not one of them for me. I enjoy a serviceable watch I can actually see the lume on and not worry about.

As you should, it's not everyone who can wear such an iconic timepiece and enjoy it's function and class. I do the same with my 1977 Sub in White w/ service dial with no reservations.

Good on you !

Don't be put off by what people say, it's just a critique. The benchmark is a totally untouched watch, completely original as the day it came out the shop, of which they are quite rare.

Your watch is a great watch too !

I have never seen such poor lume plots even on a service dial. I have not been as active with vintage watches the last couple of years so little out of the loop, but man those plots are bad.

Still a watch to wear and enjoy.

I agree, the lume between the 9:00-1:00 markers are not even close. I'm surprised Rolex would let such shoddy work out the door.

I too was surprised by that service dail plots being misaligned. Here is a photo I just took of mine today. I want to say the OP should just enjoy it.

RSc takes the dial, hands and bezel inserts to make the vintage less desirable. Then try to sell you a new watch....if you sent a 1950 Ferrari matching numbers they wouldn’t just pull the engine if it was fine lol
