Explorer II 16550 "Service Guarantee"
I have been after a rail dial explorer II and one of the best examples I have found is a 9 million serial (1986) with original box, rolex service guarantee card dated just a few months ago, but no original papers.
It is all original, hands, dial, bracelet, bezel etc. I assume a watch this old has been polished before but it does not appear to be over polished thankfully. Is a service guarantee sufficient to qualify the watch as authentic? Is this service guarantee the next best thing to original papers? My gut says yes, of course, but I wanted some help before potentially buying a watch for 20k+ Thanks! |

As much as any other piece of paper. Do your due diligence on the seller, but the service warranty card would be enough for me.

Agreed. If you have RSC paper and trust the buyer I would be ok with that.

I agree with the above and appreciate the input. He’s a seller on chrono24, the company is extra-time watch and on Instagram he’s Lorenzo nuvoletta. Not much info out there on his site so I’m not sure how I should proceed
