Anything worthwhile that Rolex releases in 2018 will end up on most buyers wishlists for years to come.

Double this if you live in Oz.

How can so many people believe that the sub and gmt aren’t changing (either movement, case or more likely both) with the current shortage/lack of supply. How can the notion that high demand accounts for 2018 supply shortage fewer such observations in mid 2017? Isn’t it probable that manufacturing of new models has started as they build inventory. I know this has been proposed by many but we still have large number of nonbelievers in this explanation.

New 114060 now or wait until Basel?

Strange phenomenon currently happening where basic SS sport models for example 116610ln being sold OVER retail on grey market. Clear that something must be happening behind the scenes in terms of limited inventories which gives rise to my hypothesis that brand new SS sport models of some varietals will be hitting the market next month after Basel. Total speculation on my part.

Legit dilemma. Haha
Maybe you only need one SS, non-date, black dial Rolex. Flip the Air King for it.

When was the last time Rolex released new designs of both the Sub and GMT in all metal grades at one time?

I believe that the writing is on the wall. I believe that Basel will brings new movements in sport watches, and maybe others. I would most certainly wait. In any case, with the new watches it will be easy to but a ND Sub at a good price.

The question should be:
Get 114060 now?
Or wait for Basel 2018 and
if i like something
get it within 6 months to a year (if i am lucky)?

Congrats for getting it :) Looks great!

Even if a new Submariner were released this year, it would be a solid gold model. The new ND Sub will be the last to get released after they go through gold and TT first. So buy with confidence. There won't be a new ND for some time. Maybe 2023?

Edit: Didn't read the last posts! Congrats and enjoy!!! You made the right decision!

So my first impressions after a scant 8 hours with the Sub are such. I see now why it is considered the ultimate go anywhere do anything watch. Now mind you I am no Rolex newbie this is my 4th watch from the brand so I don’t make that statement lightly. I love my Air King and DJ2 but this watch is just DIFFERENT. Feel, look, and wearability are just super impressive. I knew this would happen if I bought one. I think subliminally I have avoided buying one because somewhere deep in my brain I knew that once I had one it would likely never come off my wrist. Time will tell.
