I live in the north east and have been an active wis for the last 15 years and always check out the stock every couple of weeks. I have never saw any ss daytona in an ad window, white gold yes. Up until the last 18 months to 2 years you would never even see a 16610 sub in a window until the 11610 came out. I have bought both a 14060 and a sub date from goldsmiths as well as cartier and omega. Blackett street goldsmiths in newcastle, quoted 2 years for a daytona 12 months ago and they know iam a serious buyer! So no chance up here unless you are lucky and everyone passes up when they get the call!

i was on a list (about 9th) with Goldsmiths, however I managed to get one through a friend of another AD. Within 1 month of purchasing ( Nov 2008) Goldsmiths called me, 'your watch has arrived sir'. I declined, they rang me every month until I bought it. They even called me once once i had bought it, i had to tell them to cross me off the list. I advertised it on this forum at £50 below RRP - no takers. Sold it to a small independent jeweller, it sat in his window for a long time. Definately hyped out, im thinking of trading up to a Daydate II.

I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure Fraser Hart in Westfield (Stratford City) had one in the window at the weekend when I was looking.

One AD in Glasgow puts them out in the window after advertising the fact they have done so via SM sites, usually gone within a week

Avoid David M Robinson, Goldsmith, WOS or Mappin and Webb! Unless you had bought a Patek or a few Rolexes with them, you got no chance!
Ditto, I did the same three years ago and got a BNIB one within 2 days from an AD in Great Yarmouth, UK. They can easily be had for about £6k second hand nowadays...

£6k I would love to know where from as the grey dealers I buy from sell them for substantially more than retail.

Cheers

Just been to trafford centre chap was picking his up after only 6 month wait. Lists are withering as people cannot stump up the dosh for one. They ate reaching the windows now and I predict they will be in all AD windows before long.

I always find it odd that in all the brochures i have seen the SS Daytona is always shown as a white dial - don't think I've ever seen black dial pictured..
