Thank you and, yes, for any vintage Rolex collector a 1016 should be on the must-own list.

It's got the matte dial, Mercedes hands, and Oyster bracelet of a Sport watch (Submariner) and the 36mm case and smooth bezel of a Dress watch (Datejust) and therefore sits perfectly as a 'greatest hits' of both genre's that we all love so much. And, to me, it's greatest feature is that it seems to be the one Rolex for which the Oyster bracelet was designed. The head of the watch and the bracelet flow together so nicely, there is no 'lollipop' effect like the larger Rolex watches often suffer from. Just so well balanced in this regard.
