Merry Christmas - Pepsi 16750
Merry Christmas to me!
Since getting a Sub C a couple of years ago I've browsed our AD every few months and I've passed on a few nice watches - even the sought after SS models, none of them spoke me the way the Sub C did the first time i saw it - until earlier this week. An estate item caught my eye and wouldn't let go. And thanks to the enthusiasts on this forum, I knew what I was looking at and knew what to ask the technician about its background & service history, and had the opportunity to review the available papers - including the chronometer certificate from 1986! I left, googled, called Rolex Canada about its service, and came back today to pull the trigger. Thank you to the members who share their enthusiasm and knowledge, i might have otherwise passed on this, too, as a pretty piece reminiscent of my first Seiko 5. It's lighter on the wrist than the Sub C, and super comfortable - it may be tough to keep it in the amazing condition it's in now. I tried taking some artistic shots with the antiquated iPod, this is the best i could do. |

Wait just a second here. This is a 1986 watch, right? I thought this is the vintage area. I was in 11th grade in 1986. That was like...yesterday :(

Beautiful,and congrats. It's amazing to me how some of these develop a patina on the dial and bezel insert, while others look brand new. I suppose it's exposure to sun/ surf/ chlorine.
