1979 1675 GMT-Tiffany Dial
I bought this around the time I graduated high school in 1979. I don't remember what I did with the box and papers - probably threw them away long ago. I have several other watches of sentimental value, and I'm thinking of selling the GMT (i.e. my grandfather's Oyster Date from the 50's that I had restored, and the rose gold Date I received from my wife before our Rehearsal Dinner).
I'm trying to get a good estimate of its value - there are some similar Tiffany dial watches (sub and explorer, not GMT) for sale on eBay, but no confirmed sales. I was unable to find comparable sales on auction house sites. Any suggestions on other places to look? Does Rolex give extracts from its archives, and, if they do, is it worthwhile to get one (Rolex does have an office in town)? |

Unfortunately, without the paperwork to show that the Tiffany dial is original to the watch; it adds no greater value to the watch. The premium comes when you can prove its the original Tiffany dial.

OP: if you still have it, and it’s in good condition and the font is good, I see no reason you should get much less than 20k for it if you talk to the right dealers. |
