I do understand your feeling. May be it's time to find another hobby if it really bothers you. By the way, there are plenty of nice watch brands out there. In my opinion, many of them are better than Rolex.

Many potential buyers will look at competitive brands. There are plenty good brands, Rolex is not the only game in town. If you want Rolex, you either wait, buy used, or get another model which is available. Since I already have my Rolex fix, I will buy other brands. Many others will do so too. Rolex will definitely turn many people away...

Many time I think that we get bogged down on availability and price. Both are huge factors for most watch people but there is not an availability problem. The problem is the price in the grey market for the most sought after models of Rolex and PP. Ok, I am good with that and I paid over msrp for my SD43 and gladly did it. I made the best deal I could and I have enjoyed the watch since introduction last summer. The Daytona-C is not a watch I will pay 6K over retail for so I wait. There are a lot of other watches in the market that can be had for good discounts. Tudor, Omega and my current favorite is the Seiko divers. So have fun with it, pay for what you want and enjoy your watches.

One guy off the wanting lists which should be good for you guys. To be serious don't you think this in the long term will happen to more people and hurt brand perception?
I am completely in agreement with you. And I add that I already got tired of several things too. I'm not going to say the model but had one of the most coveted watches of which the shortage is tremendous. I swear I never understood why.

I do not know what pleasure it is to go running on the weekends that is the day of my rest to grab the clock and put it fast because it stops as soon as it has more than 24 hours running and sometimes less. I do not know what pleasure it is to have to put it on time every so often because it has a difference of several minutes per month.

If you flash enough Cash, you can have anything you want...Right Now...

Otherwise, take your ticket and wait in line like the rest of us...

Sounds like someone just plain doesn’t like mechanical watches. Rolex availability isn’t gonna fix that. On the bright side, he’ll save a lot of money!

for some, but not everyone. Ill never buy a SS Rolex again. Its a mass produced watch and waiting is ridiculous with the volume of watches they make. ill save the waiting for brands with smaller production numbers, where it is more justified.

Exactly. MSRP is pretty much always wrong - either too low, which results in waitlists and grey market premiums, or too high, so customers demand discounts to buy.
