Rolex Explorer II Ref.16570 - Wrong Clasp Installed

Hi,

Bought my self an EX II from 91 (N Serial#). Unfortunately I did not pay enough attention to the clasp. After receiving it, I was a little bit surprised that an Oysterclasp was attached. Strabge thing is that it fits to the watch (from the year pont of view). It is a P Serial, also 92.

Would it be possible that the first buyer had the clasp changed by the AD, or did someone just replace the upper part of the clasp?

Could someone tell me which clasp should be installed?

What do you mean by an oyster clasp? Do you have photos?

Sorry, I meant Datejust clasp, without the protection.

The 16570 from the early 90s SHOULD have an oysterclasp, 78360 oyster bracelet

Thanks, but the clasp should have the protection lever, right?
Not as with the Datejust models, without it.

Ok, thanks, so it seems it's Ok.
I was just getting nervous since many other EX II I looked at have the Fliplock clasp.

In addition, just found out that the 78360 was standard and that the 93150 (with flip lock and extension) was optional.

My current 16570 from 92 has oysterclasp while I had 94 model that came with 93150 bracelet..probably they changed the bracelet during that period.

The clasp is part of the bracelet, not the watch model. All 78360 bracelets would have the Oysterclasp. Later 78790 bracelets have the Oysterlock clasp.

Yes, the 93150 was an option on both the Exp II and the GMT.
