Opinions about getting opinions

Hi all,

I'm a recent new member and so not 100% sure about the way things work on the forum.

I'm looking to buy a GMT Master II and may have found a nice watch. However, there's a language barrier as the watch is in Germany and I'm in the UK.

I know the forum rules about posting watch adverts and I don't want to post the dealers pictures.

At the same time I don't want to be the guy that shells out £7k then posts pictures asking for opinions on something that turns out to have problems.

What's the convention for getting a good second opinion pre sale without getting gazumped.

Post photos of the watch with specific questions. I’d suggest doing a lot of your own homework first, but there’s nothing wrong with getting other opinions here. Guys do it all the time. Good luck!

Post pictures and research against other posts. There are also plenty of GMT II here in the UK

Sent dealers a long list of questions at which point they say it's on hold or reserved elsewhere. Perhaps they just don't need to bother with the extra effort of getting more photo's or writing a reply, if it's a GMT they seem to sell themselves..

I enjoy the research aspects so will keep hunting and learning.
