Big Pilot Quote

Hi, all.

I am in the market for a Big Pilot Le Petit Prince. I received a quote from a dealer for $9,675...25% off retail. Does anyone have recent experience shopping around for a Big P and if so how does this sound compared to what you are seeing out there?

I appreciate all replies.

Josh

One more question...I am now thinking about a Big Pilot 5002 as well. I see one is for sell here for $8,975. If I can get a BNIB Big P for $9,675 would it be crazy to consider a used watch for only $700 less than I can buy a brand new one? Decisions...decisions!

5002 is the ”original” watch. At least among the modern ones. However the newer watches do have more solid movents.

Is the price given by your dealer including sales tax?

It is hard to tell whether a new watch beats the used one w/o seeing the specs of the deal. If a used one still have warranty and the new one is through a gray dealer and w/o the warranty, I'd go for the used one.

That is my assumption as I would have him ship to a family member out of state to avoid the sales tax.

What do you mean by "specs of the deal" outside of the warranty?

I was told that the mfg warranty would apply as the watch is brand new and sourced from an AD in the states. I could get a slightly lower price if the Grey Dealer gets it from an AD outside the states, but apparently IWC will not honor the warranty.

I assume that a warranty on a 5002 would be gone since they were released so long ago.
