The point is you buy where you trust! Airline tickets are sold online and people buy them because they trust the seller!! So even though I never bought anything from Tony Buy from what I read he is a trusted seller

You don't have to worry about any watch you purchase from Tony (justrolexes) so I wouldn't waste your money.

I've gone through the same thought process; I think it's perfectly normal.

I've bought three watches from DavidSW and one from Tony. Each one I've bought has been reasonably recent in manufacture, so my thinking has been that it's extremely unlikely that any service has ever been performed on the watch and even more unlikely that a previous owner would have opened the case and removed genuine parts to replace them with aftermarket parts. I've also reasoned that both David and Tony have FAR more experience than I do in sourcing watches and that they, as well, have their own "trusted sellers." Me, I wouldn't waste the money to get any watch from either David or Tony "authenticated" and would trust them at least as much as an AD. Probably other sellers on this forum as well, but I've just done business with David and Tony.

I'm not sure anyone has ever been sold a non authentic airline ticked from an authorised agent

I get it. Your first Rolex, not cheap, lots of scary tales, and you’re wiring a lot of money to a total stranger. Just remember that the guys that have been selling for a long time value their reputations (and repeat business/livelihood) more than any profit from pulling one over you. The consequences to them, if someone reported being cheated, would be swift and immediate. Save your flight fare and $150 and enjoy the watch. If you remain uneasy for some irrational reason, then instead of flying/authenticating just send it in to RSC for a service. They won’t service a fake and you’ll get a service warranty along with a minty fresh watch.

If the quality of the watch is off the charts exceptional, then it is a real rolex. If it looks strange, makes weird noises or feels like its made out of tin, then it is fake. You're good to go mate, don't worry.

I totally understand the need for peace of mind. But isn’t that why you bought from Tony in the first place? I mean, any and all doubts as to authenticity should be addressed - and removed before buying. Not after.
