Should I sell the ROO and get the Jumbo?

I know this has been talked about in many ways, but I'd like to seek your opinion. I currently own an Offshore 26470ST, but because of its thickness, I can only wear it during the weekends with casual clothes. I simply don't wear the watch as much I want.

Last weekend, this topic came up while I was talking to my gf. The idea of getting rid of the Offshore and get the Jumbo surfaced. It sounds like a good idea because I can actually wear it to work, but I am just not sure.

I have a small wrist, ~ 6 inches. The ROO strap allows me to pull it down, so it sits and wears comfortable. Since the Jumbo is on a bracelet, which does not pull down like the strap, I wonder how fit is.

I'd appreciate any opinion or guidance from all of you around the world. If you have a small wrist and own a Jumbo, how does it fit? What does it look like? Thank you all in advance.

If you’ve got a 6” wrist then I think the Jumbo will look really good on you.

when i got the jumbo, i still had my 42mm black themes. at the time, i was actually making a shift toward smaller watches, purging all the 'big' ones. however, the ROO was at that time my grail for many years...and i rationalized that it and the jumbo were far apart within the RO family to live together...which i still believe is true.

however, my penchant for more 'traditional' sized cases grew, and i found myself not wearing the black themes as much.

not going to lie, now and then i do miss it. i think it's a classic dial/case combo, and i think it just looked bad-ass on my 7-inch wrist.
and the recent 25th anniversary issue of the blue dial makes me miss it even more.

all that said, i don't regret my decision at all. my collection has continued toward traditional sizes, including the recent addition of 15450BA.

if u can swing it, get the jumbo and keep the ROO for awhile. like me, if u find yourself not wearing it as much, perhaps that's the signal that it's ok to let it go.

lastly, whilst i agree that one should buy what one likes, objectively speaking 6in. wrist for a ROO is not a great match-up. hell, even with 39mm of the jumbo you're going to be pushing it, IMO.

Sounds like you're half way there already, so no stopping now. The Jumbo is the answer!

I don't know. Having a ROO is pretty special. I used to not like them, but I've really come around.

Is this your own watch? What if you kept the ROO for weekends, and added a simple Rolex DJ for weekdays?

I would do it. Life's too short to own something you don't fully love. Plus the Jumbo is beautiful! Good luck.

I kind of did as I shifted a 44ti and now have a jumbo but it wasn’t direct. I just do this thing where every time I sell an AP I regret it and buy another

I would seriously consider a 15450 as well if your wrist is 6”. It should fit perfect!

I have a small wrist like you. Believe it’s about 6.25. Jumbo fits perfect because I have a flat wrist. 15450 looks off fo some reason. I tried to upload pics of both but i couldn't figure out how to resize

ROO on a 6" wrist?! I have to see this.

I've been trying on ROOs for a couple years now, more for shits and giggles than anything else. My wrist is 6.25" (flat) and there's no way I can pull it off. Due to the nature of the plots and strap, it hangs off the side of my wrist. No matter what, it doesn't look right.

Anyway, I vote Jumbo.

These are two are rather different watches. In addition to the size of your wrist you should think in what occasions you want to wear them. Jumbo has much more dressier design

Thanks everyone for your input. Unfortunately there is no AP Boutique where I am to try on a Jumbo. I have several other watches I wear during the week, but I feel bad not giving the ROO the wrist time it deserves. I guess a trip to a local AD is needed to make the right decision. Until then, I am just not sure how it will work out. Vegas anyone?

God knows there are plenty of jumbos near by

Maybe a redbar type meet up would help.

I have ROO 42mm (Elephant) and acquired Jumbo after. Before that also felt ROO is not for every occasion and start wearing it only on weekends. Have to say although I am sentimentally connected to ROO (my first AP) Jumbo is in another league and looks and wears perfectly, however, believe I would never appreciate what it is without first having ROO. Now the best part is that I equally enjoy Jumbo and ROO which I kept! Keep switching ROO between steel and bracelet wearing it on casual outfit and have Jumbo when I like it, my opinion Jumbo is perfect for any occasion but still wouldn't use it as everyday watch...

Doing this (plus Reverso when wearing suite) Im in watch heaven for some time now which I know as I am not looking for other watches:):)

So in case its possible I would have both...

I don't believe the Vegas boutique is even adding people to the waitlist for a 15202 at the moment. The last time I spoke to them they had more than 10 people on it with paid deposits.

In a heartbeat. Regarding fit, you can get a 1.5 link to get the fit you want. I did and the watch fits great

I am currently traveling in Asia and there is an AP Boutique where I am. Unfortunately they don't have a Jumbo in stock (duh...), but the sale lady offered to bring the RG Open Work out for me to try since it's the same size (very nice of her). In the mean time, I also tried on the 41mm 15400.

Um... My gf thinks the Jumbo is still big due to the extended case.

This is what the ROO looks like on my tiny 6 inch wrist.

To be honest a 15405 would be much better for your wrist, the 39mm is better than the 42, but still a little large for me. But your choice, but 15405 is the right size for you

Can’t see your pics!

But the openworked is 41mm unless they still have the older 39mm variant in stock?!

There's an openworked version of the 15202 as well, the 15204OR in Rose Gold. Not sure if it's still in current production.

They also made a 15203PT... an openworked 15202 in Platinum. Now this is a real grail piece from AP for me.

They are all legacy models, as far as I’m aware current collection only contains 41mm and the newly released 37mm double balance wheel openworked.

Edit: my previous post should of said ‘39mm variants in stock’
