I am not offended, please do not infer things I did not say, it only makes one look a fool.

Obviously you have a rather hard time understand what was written. Please allow me to explain in a way you might understand.

I do not agree with posting a name, where the person lives on a board he has nothing to do with, asked to remove mention of his name and location. I have a right to voice an opinion.

I said the board should be closed due to the rather harsh tones people have been responding with. Two different thing. You do understand that I hope? If not please let me know and I'll try to explain it in even simpler way, or does that not fit condescending post.

Again more snide comment to a petty string of posts. I mean its base level irony, but I'll keep playing.

I learned how to comment! The moderator (who had every right to..combined my two posts for clarity. Some folks read before the were combined. Mine were kind of confusing.

With all these snide comment and hostility on this thread I think it should be closed and removed immediately. This is by far the WORST thread I have ever read on here.

I believe that post was aimed at another member who made a snooty post rather than you.

A great summary was made earlier by our patient Mod who has watched over this thread. It is worth repeating below...not in the least for latecomers to the discussion.

But first, let me congratulate the TRF Tifosi here who have posted enough to elevate this thread to #1 in Google search results for the missing watch's serial number "2132T5F4".

It is a small milestone, but for this discussion started by bearsmom, and for your comments, it may help the current owner, some future owner, of that watch to track back to post #1 and begin the next step of her quest...

It is almost certain that a George Felt owned it in May 2013.

It came into the possession of SwissWatchExpo at some date in the past.
It would be useful to Mrs Bear EXACTLY when they obtained it and sold it. It should not be assumed either way. If she chooses not to follow this up it is to her disadvantage. Proof from SWE should be asked for, not just a salespersons words.

A family member seemingly had this watch from the son before the deceased's estate could be established and disbursed.

If there is a chain of bills of sale back to the family member then we have a potential dispute between Mrs B and the family member, the result of which could invalidate the bill-of-sale chain past that point.

It is potentially a civil matter if the family member states that it was the wishes that he/she would receive it in the event of something happening. The start point would be initial proof of ownership by the son and then establishment of right of ownership after his passing.

I am new here and did not know how to reply - especially when the replies sounded so negative - two posts had been combined by admin...and I guess that caused the mix-up. Thanks for the previously edited "highlights".

Imagine how much more confusing/exasperating it would be if both threads, or more, were left open.

So there is a person that you can point to, and he's a member here?

BTW Did you submit a police report for the watch at the time? If so, and the information is passed to Rolex you are likely to get it back in the future as soon as someone puts it in for servicing.
Welshwatchman - no, no, no - I doubt very seriously that the "thief" is a member here - but his "buyer" probably did not know he was a thief - he (the thief) buys, trades, sells stuff all the time. So the "unsuspecting buyer" could possibly be a member here. I was hoping so, anyway.

pilotjim - yes - a reply would have been in order - but I did not know how to directly "reply" at that point, and a moderator had combined my two original posts, although at different times - which is most certainly his prerogative, so it made what I thought were replies..."ghosts", I guess. My apologies. I am still learning!

Bearsmom, I really hope you're able to recover this watch that your son loved and wore. I can't think of many items as personal as a wristwatch and while that won't bring back your son, it's something that meant a lot to him and you should be in possession of it.

I would file a report, contact a Rolex AD and also pawnshops. Watches without papers often end up at pawnshops and it's a common watch that they buy and sell. It will eventually turn up somewhere for a service. It can take a very long time but it will pop up somewhere.

I have since (partially!) learned how to reply directly here...so maybe I can answer your question. I had (wrongly)originally posted 2 posts which were combined at some point by a moderator, which he had every right to do. I guess the first post generated such hateful rhetoric that the moderator did me a favor and combined the two for a more detailed request. Hope you know now.
