Quick question: will 20mm fit the Subs? I will get a sub down the road for sure and I know I will be wearing it with straps in college.

Just my
NATOs serve a great purpose when a bracelet failure in a high risk endeavor would have grave consequences. Actually, an 18mm on a Sub or other 20mm sport watch gives you some nice lug space offset.

First of all, if your askmen.com source is the Watch Snob, I think you have failed to note the sarcasm present in all their (because there are several of them) writing. Secondly, why don't you just make up your own mind about what you like and what you do not like? It's not like what anyone else thinks about your watch strap makes any difference at all, unless you are at a job interview. I suggest you read through this entire thread: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=70313 I may be too old though, I don't know what the words "prep", "chill" or "hipster" mean, at least not in the context they were used in. |

Gotta be honest, really don't like the NATO straps, think they just make the watch look cheap. But it's what makes you happy...

Anyways, I just ordered an orange one and i am going to test it out to see if it will work with my DJ. I know orange may not be the best representation of nylons in general, but I am trying to get it all prepped up.
I will definitely post pics with my new leather and nylon strap once they arrive. |

My issue with NATO straps is that with prolonged use, dirt, grit, sand, salt gets beneath the strap and gradually wears on the case back.
For that reason, I only wear NATOs on my beaters. Fr. John† |

I will def post the pics. If I like it, then I will order 6 more colors which are all in the cart already. I am taking a quite of risk, but this will be interesting to those who would like to give more sporty looks to a formal watch.

The only problem I have with a NATO compared to my Oyster bracelet . . . . is that my wife will be running around with my Rolex ;-)

Ok so I just could not resist so I just purchased another 7 colors in addition to orange, for a total of 8. Fingers crossed that it will look good..
I will post pics for all 8 colors (very diverse) + leather strap when I get them all probably by Friday or so. If you find any pics of DJ with Nato strap, please let me know. I have seen what I could find on the internet with rather mundane colors. |

One thing I know for sure if that I will be getting a TT sub down the road. And with the sub I will defintely be using the strap here and there. They look great with sub. The reason why I created this thread was because I didnt know if it will look as good with DJ, since it is more dressy watch. Either way, I will be able to use my straps. And they were like $10 each too!

i personally think NATO straps look great and are an excellent way to keep the bracelet nice and clean. as long as you like it, that's what matters. i personally have not heard anyone say "great watch...bad strap." i think they are a great look.

Nato strap is fine for on explorer , sub, gmt. when in casual clothes. I consider a datejust dressy , so it won't mix well with a nato. Would a nylon/cloth belt go good together with a suit ? I think not Would a nato strap go good with jeans and beach sandals? yes |
