Damn it Costco

I've been saving for a SubC. Almost there. Then out of nowhere, I'm walking through Costco and see this.

I've looked at the SDc before, but it never really did anything for me. Now, it was looking pretty good. Damn you Rolex Gods.

Btw, if anyone is in the Gilbert, Az area, that is where this beauty is.

Interesting.... they have an Explorer if I remember correctly at the Arcadia store. Saw it last weekend - first time I've seen a Rolex at Costco.

Oh. Didn't realize. Imo it would be kind of silly to buy a sd4k new. They depreciate really hard just like the explorer 2 and milgauss. Get a used sd4k and save thousands.

I second this.....the SD4K has horrible resale value and are being given away up in Canada pre-owned between $9000-$9300 CDN....

Some people prefer to buy new even though there are very nice deals out there on pre-loved pieces. Each to its own!

Costco is all about the impulse buy Their prices are great and their items don't stay on the shelf for long.

I've been thinking/dreaming about an Exp II. If costco had one I'd be very hard pressed not to throw it in the shopping cart!

I can see my wife: "I sent you over there to buy water and toilet paper!"

Anyone buy from Costco? I'm curious if the warranty still is valid and what it is stamped with - assuming some Rolex AD?

8000 for brand new SD 4k aint bad. The 14999 for the Yachtmaster is high though. Those can be had for 13000-13500 if you poke and prod awhile.

My understanding from other Costco threads is the trade off from getting a discount from a Costco is that it does not include the warranty card and there's no factory warranty included. Believe the original AD keeps the card so it's harder to trace the source, although with a serial number it is traceable.

Well...not to hijack the thread, but...

The first order of business is to make sure you're firm on whether you want the Sub or the SDc...then you can get the best deal where you can. I'm in the camp that price of something is not nearly as important as getting what you really want.

I agree, I'd rather pay a little extra and get my first choice.

Agreed! I made that mistake and thankfully was able to backtrack without losing much, if anything at all.

Wow that is a great price....the new sdc has a lot if great tech and I lone the bezel over the subs.

Granted I have owned the previous 16610 and currently own the 16600...I prefer the SD....love the tech and don't mind the little extra bulk.

Think of what your COSTCO rebate will be at the end of the year, if you pick that up. Either way future future congrats for your SubC or 4K!!

No worries about hijacking. And that is exactly why I didn't pull the trigger. I had a 16600 a number of years ago and still miss it. My biggest turn off with the SDc is the matte/satin dial, yet it might be growing on me. At the same time, the Sub is also pure sexiness.

Okay price but I would rather buy new from an AD. I did so for about 200 more last year. Not worried about resale, it's the best diver that wears a crown

sure.....

but the average loss on an SD4K BNIB to pre-owned is $2500-3000 right off the bat....
