I mean, I don't want to lose money...

A few weeks ago I started a thread speaking about our "Wish List" and I said that I was going to hold off for a few months before I move forward with anything on my wish list.

Aaaand then a trip for work came up and I noticed that the number 1 watch on my wish list is a lot cheaper over there (around $3,000 cheaper actually) so, I mean, I don't want to lose money.

So I'm picking this beauty up next week in London!

This will be my 5th Rolex, and it's probably going to be my favorite.

Good decision, a price rise is likely here so smart move, plus weather here is still good so enjoy the trip. Although officially I disapprove of you Brexit raiders coming over here.

Nice! I tried it on a couple weeks ago and was smitten by it in the metal. One may very well make its way on to my wrist at some point.

Congrats and enjoy!

I tried one on a the other week. Beautiful watch. If I didn't have the platinum dial already, I would get one.

Congrats Gus! I've yet to see one of those in person, but at $3k cheaper than US, I'd jump on it too. It looks fantastic in photos.

England. Paying full price at an AD is already around $1,200 less than in the US (where they are hard to find btw). Then once you get the VAT back you get the rest. The watch here in the US is $11,500 retail (I've seen some for sale in the grey market for like $10,600 but I don't want to risk it).

After 'Brexit' the GPB went down, so I will get the watch for around $8,000-$8,500 once I get he VAT back.

I'm lucky that I'm going for work and don't have to pay for the flight, but even if you had to pay for the flight you would save like $2,000 (depending where you are flying from).

I always thought people that flew to Paris or London to go shopping were people with too much money that wanted the experience and didn't care the higher price to pay, but now with Brexit I think it makes financial sense to do that!

Have you reserved / found it in stock in England? Hopefully you have one put aside already as UK Rolex stock is at an all time low and its near impossible to get even a new Sub at the moment. And of course there is the inevitable price increase at any moment rumours...

Awesome, congrats, looks like you're going to score a good deal!

I somehow think purchasing a watch overseas would make the watch a little more special then if you just plopped down to your local AD near your house.

Oh yeah! Wired the money today. Watch is on the safe waitin for me.

I actually found two ADs, one had it (the one that is now waiting for me), the other AD said they are expecting one within the next few days. I would be happy to share their name if someone wants it.

Oh yeah!

I bought my Cellini in Florence at Ponte Vechio (look at the history of the Cellini so you understand why that's special), and bought my Milgauss in Japan (the watch was created for scientists and Japan makes me think of advanced science and technology).

Still trying to find a connection between the UK and "Yachtmaster" other than being a good deal! :D
