Off to rolex for service

Kinda bummed my 16013 datejust gave up on me a few days ago. After gaining time, I left it home for a week while traveling. Once returned I wound it up and set the time, to which it promptly lost 7 minutes in a week. As I went to reset the time, while winding it, you could feel something was not right, and took it to my local AD. We both agreed that it needed to go back to rolex for a full service and overhaul. They had done some complimentary work on it before with their independant after I purchased it, but I decided that the full treatment was in order. She went out today and I'll see her back again looking brand new, so it guess it's worth the wait.
My 16013 for reference

In the meanwhile I went thru the new and preowned inventory and found my next watch after I finish college (16613) and it's big brother. They even had a freshly serviced 16618 which is my dream watch and the best of both worlds to me, but I definitely need a 2nd for service time and to mix it up. Wearing a beater for a month feels like I'm on punishment. Can wait to finish school next year so I can justify a 2nd to the wife!

You made the right decision according to me.
In the end, RSC is still the best place to get a full restoration if money is not an issue.
Best,
