I am 6'2" and a weight lifter. I owned a Daytona years ago and traded it within a week as it felt too small on my wrist and I needed a date function and my Bluesy has been with me since. This was way before larger watches were the norm. I prefer a 42-45mm watch. My 40mm Bluesy is as small as I would ever go and I have owned it for about 20 years. Omega 45mm PO, Panerai, Breitling, B&R, all are a better fit on my wrist. The Daytona wears small to begin with and is not even a 40mm watch. I don't blame you for letting it go.

Hey, you know what works best for your wrist and sometime what you like/want isn't what works! Good luck with your next fight.

Yeah...I see your point. Congrats on the DJ...it's a beauty!

Another vote to check out the Sky in steel when it comes out later. Or maybe the new SD?

We are roughly the same size but structured way different, I'm an inch shorter and 5 pounds heavier.
Daytona size does not look like that on my wrist

I don't get it.When I had my first 116520 I was 6'2 270 with 22" arms,16.75" forearms and an 8" wrist and I thought it looked great.I think the Daytona is perfect unless you are Andre the giant.either way I think it looked good on your wrist but it's your wrist.

If you want something bigger and with wrist presence then try Panerai

Datejust looks good, especially if you're more comfortable wearing it. You should check out the SS YM 2 as well. Another Chronograph, just Regatta style. Very cool, technical movement.

Congrats on the new piece!

The Daytona is smaller first hand than close-up pictures would suggest. The white DJ II is right for you. Perhaps the new 43mm Sea-Dweller would be a good fit for your high testosterone lifestyle...Ha! Enjoy! Cheers!

I don't blame you. I'm 5'8 165 lbs with a 7.5" wrist and the Daytona always felt too small for me. I can only imagine it felt even smaller for you. Oddly enough I didn't like the size of the DJii either. Lately I've been sticking to 40mm and it seems to be the sweet spot for me

You should try a PM Daytona. To be fair a WG would not be that much more than a C these days!!!

They are all notably chunkier than the SS except for the Full YG which is the only exception and is the same. This is a comparison of my WG vs fiancées YG which highlights it a little - the extra thickness of the WG, though not brilliantly.

Put it this way though, her YG looks too small whereas my WG looks perfect on my wrist, that bit of extra case width and thickness on the lugs makes all the difference.

Definitely give one a try as the Daytona is too good of a watch to risk missing out on if there is a variant that would work for you!

I bought my Daytona based solely on photos never saw one at an AD to try on and was very disappointed in the size and how it sat on my 8"+ wrist but love my expII and DJ41 my sub feels very small to me but when the new SD43's are out its bye bye sub

Congrats on the new purchase. Maybe you should consider the new SD43 when it hits the ADs. The larger size might suit you better.

Beasty guys on this thread. I could definitely see the standard 40mm being too small and especially the Daytona with the bezel versus dial ratio.. Good thing for these guys Rolex is making some more bigger new options heh.

I had a 116520 for a few months. It always felt small and lightweight to me, and difficult to read.

Weekend before last when I was inquiring about the SkyD there was a discounted TT Daytona for sale at approximately the same price. When I looked at its face it just appeared small and cluttered to me. No way I could wear it and keep it.

For a chrono I'm more than happy with this one.

Obviously a matter of preference but I'm inclined to agree with you. I think members 1William and Tebow are both 6'5" 260 who just got Skydwellers and a YM II respectively. They went big and then there are guys like Rocco who is enormous and digs a Daytona. For perspective, I'm 6'4" 235-40 in reasonable shape. My wrist is a shade under 8" and I'd assume the stainless Skydwellers won't be smaller than the PM models.

Problem is, I'm 6'1" and weigh 217lbs.

I have a 44mm Breitling Airborne which I am wearing more than the Daytona due to the size.

The Daytona is simply too small for me personally. I'm gutted to finally admit it, but I've tried and tried to love the size but it's lost on my wrist.

So I sold it to Watchfinder UK and made a very healthy profit...with that profit I have purchased a Datejust II as it's 41mm and I have 2 Breitling chronos and a Tag Heuer Link Chrono for 'sports wear'...therefore this beautiful Datejust is for 'best'.

Tough choice to sell but I can't argue with your reasoning.
I flipped my black dial after a massive 72hrs of ownership, the Mrs wanted me to let go of my DBlue but I also felt the Daytona wore a little on the small side.
I'm still missing it though
