I think it just boils down to how big a guy you are. Bigger guys will want watches 42mm and up. They are all fantastic, they are Rolexes.

I definitely like the SD43 better hands down. Even better than all the Subs I have had. Daytona C, I love too. Equally my two favorite SS Rolexes to date.
It's just so perfect for those wanting a Rolex with wrist presence that is not too topheavy like DSSD.
Plus all Rolex New Tech inside is exciting

I don't find the DSSD top heavy. It like an earlier poster said. Whether it's a sub, SD or DSSD.......once you have it on for a while, I don't even notice which one I am wearing.

Great review but I still prefer the 2014 SD - just love the matte dial and fully graduated bezel too much!

I think it was Tampa's comments, ( or my own selfish desires), on the SD43, but I know the DSSD always hung heavy, and I'm a pretty big guy, 6'3" 230. But the red dweller after a week now is just there, no big deal. The first two days after switching from my sub on an Everest to it, it was noticeable, but not any more... and the few days I have wear my Apple Watch for notification reasons, it's like i just wearing a livestong band almost.

This is a great watch. In another post, I got to try on a new white gold Daytona, and it was as, if not heavier than my SD.

I'm 6'5 260lbs w an 8 in wrist and got my new SD43 yesterday. I also have a DSSD Deep Blue.

They both wear very comfortably in their unique ways: SD43 is better balanced/proportioned and the slowly wider bracelet is cool while the DSSD def has more wrist presence, but it's uniqueness makes it so cool.

The new SD43 is a nice beast.
I would create two categories, as for the visual balance: the "really perfectly well balanced watches" and the "nice watches".

That is purely subjective, but I would place in the "really perfectly balanced" category:
-old sub date 16610
-old sub no-date 14060
-SD4000 116600
-yachtmaster
-new daydate40

The second category, "nice watches":
-new submariner
-SD43 (too much bezel for me)
-yachtmasterII
-skydweller

Imho...

Surprised myself at AD...went in to order SD43. Decided it's just too similar to my Sub. Then tried on SD Deepsea. I have small wrist and thought is would be way too big. Loved it and bought it.

In your review you provided a link to your 2015 comparison of the Submariner Date vs Sea-Dweller vs Deep Sea Sea-Dweller and I learned something that I had never noticed on my 116600, nor have I seen it mentioned in other reviews.

The first 15 minute markers are longer than the remaining markers. Funny how something can be so obvious, yet, I have overlooked!

Still waiting to see one in real life. Hope it looks/wears more than 1 mm smaller than the 116660. Can not get over the added cyclops till now, but that's just personal preference....

I noticed that the hour hand of the SD43 is shorter and fatter than the one in the SD40. That hour hand seems to be the same as in the Deep Sea. Surely the one in SD40 is more fluid, elegant and balanced.

I originally had a SD4000 and decided that in order to purchase the SD43, I would have to sell it. As soon as I let it go, I kind of knew I would regret it. I wanted to love the newer model. I have a flat 7.25 in wrist and both watches work. However, at least on my wrist the bezel on the SD 43 just looks disproportionately big. I certainly appreciate both watches incredible engineering. Yesterday, I found a NOS SD 4000 and had to get it. I simply see it as having more of the SD DNA. I feel like the SD 4000 has a special quality to it that is hard to describe. I will hold on to the SD 43 for awhile..I know I may change my mind.

I am wearing my 126600 as I type this... in the pictures I can say that my eye is drawn to the 116600. But having tried this watch on many times, worn a friends for a considerable time, I have no doubt that the 126600 is the superior watch. And let me tell you, in all honesty, I love the 116600. The 126600 is just better. Even with the cyclops.

Jeez, you are tall. When I take a picture like your second one my foot is still pretty much in focus. Yours is so out of focus I initially thought this was a picture for a thread of "your Rolex with a bunch of small hotdogs on the ground".
