I had an old second hand Datejust for a couple of years , Im not sure why I even bought it as I never wore it.
I then happened to walk into my local AD one day and they had a black dial daytona so I knew I had to have it.

I wish it had just stopped there and the Daytona could have been my one watch for the rest of my life , Unfortunately Ive had another six since

Just got by 2 years of owning my first Rolex and I am itching to flip up from Milgauss to DateJust 41 - unfortunately I will not have the funds to keep both. Plan is to change watches every few years by adding funds and end up with a Day Date one day! Climb a ladder of watches :)

A huge gap in time between my first and second! The last two there was roughly two years part of that was dictated by the Daytona C wait list though....it could have been more.

Similar story, first two SS buys were years apart, then I got TRF-ed and first two PM pieces were in the same month!

I think that question will be hard to answer because everyone is gonna have different answers. Some is a day and others a couple of years. Its when YOU feel ready.

I wore my first, a nice DJ, for several years...5 or 6, I really don't remember.

And then...I added a sub. And then...discovered TRF. And then...

It was about 6 months or so, I traded another piece to obtain a 16014. About a year later I obtained a 116613lb. Then a few months later I traded the 16014 towards a 18238! The good news is I think I am about to stop, maybe.....

8 years. 16613LB in 1987 and then added a YG Day Date in 1995. Whole bunch of buying and selling since 95.
