Yet another "is this too big?" thread - SD43 content

Hello,

First off, thanks for a terrific forum. I have been a reader for years and feel like I have received a free education from the countless members who have shared their stories, expertise, and passion the brand. After years of dating the wrong watches I finally decided to settle down with the brand that I have always admired.

I just got the call on the new SD 43 and before I pull off the stickers off I wanted to get some opinions on size. I have a 6.75 wrist and am about 6' tall. Big but lean, I guess? I wanted an everyday piece that would suit my lifestyle - lots of travel, snorkeling, swimming, paddle-boarding, and generally active stuff. I am not quite onboard with a sub or SD4K yet and so it came down to the SD43 or BLNR. (I know, very different beasts but those are the two that spoke to me)

This would be an everyday piece and I spend most of my days in jeans or shorts and seldom wear a suit. So could you weigh in once more for the new guy? At first blush it feels a bit chunky on my wrist but that’s likely due in part to the fact I have never had such formidable watch. Is the BLNR a better choice? All thought are welcome.

Thanks in advance for your feedback. (and patience)

The lugs don't seem to hang over the edges of your wrist, so it looks good to me!

There's no way to deny it's a big watch, at least to me.. But it looks pretty great on you, now the real deal is how you feel.

If you have to ask...

But in this case I will say it actually looks very good on your wrist. Enjoy!

Looks perfect. The difference between 40mm and 43mm is minimal co pared to 37mm to 40mm.

It’s simply a matter of style. To me, it only works on larger 8”+ wrists.

It is a watch that has been made big, will always look the way it was made, big.
It does not look too big on your wrist, it actually looks like the fantastic watch it was made to look like. Good choice, if i had your wrists i would be happy with it.

looks good on your wrist. it s a beautiful watch, like you said , you can wear it with Jeans and a white t shirt..or a suit..you cannot go wrong.
after wearing it for a bit you will get used to it, and it won't look big or small.
i have put the SD43 on a few times, and i don't find it to be a big watch.
i have a 47 mm that 's on the big side.
congrats on scoring that watch...it s a keeper.

Thanks. Well stated. I am still getting used to the idea of such a formidable watch. (and the fact that it's a Rolex, but that's a different story) I suspect in a few weeks it would feel less foreign.

I suspect you think I this too big; if so, don't bite . Although it would resell very easily, so there's little risk. Personally. I think it is a bit ungainly and oversized. But that's a minority view.......most Rolex watches seem to be getting fatter.

I'm in the same boat and I know it looks perfect on you. I beat this to death but most coveted Rolex watches are not large enough for my tastes. The sub, SD4000, GMT II, and especially Daytona look ridiculous on my 7.5" wrist. I even gave my DJ36 to the wife. I am also 6' medium build.

Wear that beast in good health!
