Ceramic SS Daytona vs. WG Daytona 116509
I am on the waiting list for the new Ceramic Daytona but I am also thinking about a pre-owned white gold Daytona #116509. What would you rather own? Which one should I get? I would like to hear from owners of these watches as well as anyone with an opinion!

SS for me, it’s the only way to go but I’m a sucker for SS watches...

Go for the gold! If you are spending that kind of money, it’s better spent on gold with a discount than steel at a premium.

It's kind of hard to compare the two as they wear completly different in my opinion. I love the Daytona SS C for obvious reasons, but the feel of a PM Daytona is something special. The weight gives it a real "solid" feel that can't be compared.
I'm assuming the WG you want is on a bracelet. I'm not really sure of prices on Daytonas on straps. But I'd say you are looking at about a 9-10k difference between MSRP on the C and a used WG on a bracelet depending on the dial you want. Good luck

If you are looking at the blue dial, then YES! IF ANY OTHER, then no!

I have seen and handled both. I love the WG. Especially with the white face.

I have had both; white gold every time. Just a nicer watch. Got one on as I type.

Unless it's a meteorite dial I would go with the 116500 LN Daytona

Used WG every time, but I notice that some of the grey have also bumped up the prices on the used PM Daytonas, from ~$19K up to ~$24K

I would prefer PM, especially 116515 LN.

Ceramic SS Daytona vs. WG Daytona 116509
I owned a black ceramic SS Daytona and with the crazy premium on these, it was a no brainier for me to get the White gold panda 116509, I couldn’t be happier.

If you buy the WG right you should have a great watch to wear that will hold it's value. At some point I believe that the crazy SS Daytona-C prices will abate and we will get back closer to msrp. At that point if you still want the SS Daytona-C you can flip and still have enough funds for another nice watch. But, once owned, the WG Daytona may stay around as it is a great watch.

I would go WG, blue, slate or panda, don't think we will see a ceramic bracelet WG.

Used WG for sure. So many great dial choices.
I also won't pay a premium for a Stainless Steel or ask to get on some half list. |

I love my Daytona C but I paid MSRP for it. If I were faced with the premiums steel ones are going for I believe I would explore the PM variety myself.

WG FTW. I think that the ceramic Daytona looks kind of cheesy. Apologies to the fans, but that's my opinion. The 116509 especially with the blue face, wears great, looks elegant and has some nice heft to it.

The dial choices in WG are much more interesting, so that would get my vote. If you can find a good deal on a nice pre-owned, so much the better.

I guess it makes sense if your name never comes up and you are wondering when it’s gonna happen and in the meantime u have no Daytona in your wrist .
I consider that option as well but luckily I got the call before I start going crazy ...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
