Rather vague request to be honest. Same advice for all vintage pieces, not just Explorer 1. Make sure it’s all correct for the reference. Make sure any service parts such as dial, hands or case are reflected in the price. If early to mid 60s make sure it has a gilt dial. Check condition of caseback and case for corrosion. Matching hands and dial lume is very important for me on this ref as there is so much lume.
I’m assuming you mean 1016 explorer? These have extra long minute hands and are often changed out with shorter submariner hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ref 14270 (With Papers)
this will be my second Rolex purchase, Ive found a 14270 that dates from 1992, its priced at £3,600 and this seems to be the going price, in addition to this it comes with a Oyster bracelet original Rolex paperwork. (No Box)
I will be asking all the right questions but to start with ive attached a couple of sales photos, I welcome any thoughts in regards to this, Many Thanks "H" |

Apologies, its 26 years old and in some opinions this is Vintage? I already have a 5513 Submariner from 1968, and on researching the Explorer this again can be problematic with redials hands etc, so I though id play safe and not go so old this time. opinions and views welcome.

And can you define vintage in your opinion..? In the watch world, that can be a very flexible matter of thinking..
