5960/1A white discontinued

I have heard this from 3 different AD's now... Two in Europe and one in Asia + I have heard via an asian contact that it has also been confirmed from other AD's in this area... Anyone else heard similar rumors?

Was told to me already before Basel '17 that they couldn't order the 5960/iA anymore. Not sure if it was true back then and don't know if it's true now.

Maybe only the black dial now available for order and white till all stock is sold.

Cheers

With no disrespect at all to current owners, 5960/1a white dial probably the most undersold AC I've observed at ADs in the last 2 years. Even if discontinued is true, they will be available for a while. I really like the look on leather or even "tropical" straps from pics I've seen more than the bracelet look.

The price of these is right now in SS 5711 and 12 territory and we know all the money is going there these days.

I may have been able to buy one for $30k and I agree it's too much watch not to buy for $25k.

It’s a nice watch, but man you better love it.

You can buy a ref. 3970 or 5040 at $35k.

They really should go ahead and pull it from the lineup, IMO.

I have one and would never dream of wearing it on the bracelet.... Black strap with red stitching makes it an absolute stunner in my book... And at the prices they are currently at they're a steal compared to overpriced Nautie's

I think the bracelet additions did devalue the watch, esp when comparisons with IWC and Breitling were made. Lange did this briefly with the Dato and have since kept well away, and even the 5167 on bracelet won't fly, so these pieces just ought to be on leather.

I feel the same. My AD said apart from the Nautilus models other Patek watches with bracelets are not very popular. Even the 5131P is not commanding the same premium compared to G,J and R versions.

I don't think the watch buying public likes mesh or rice bead bracelets very much.

the only thing that saves the 5131p bracelet is that its platinum. Id put up with a bracelet style that isn't may favorite for that. For the 5960, nope

5960a 1a 010 (black dial) was only introduced last year at Baselworld. If they are discontinuing it already after just 1 year this is very likely to become a real collectors piece as production numbers will be very limited. I agree it’s not to everyone’s taste but people were very divided when the nautilus was originally introduced. The rarity of the steel black dial alone should support prices going forward. Were the view of the watch to change favourably with time then prices will sky rocket. I actually quite like the 3-tone dial. It reminds me a little of the Paul Newman Daytona.
