Too bad there is not a mechanism in place to help you, in the past two weeks I have come across three hulks and three BLNRs. Ido travel within the USA and wander in to local ADs to see whats available, only the BLNR was on display the others were not displayed but available.

Collected my 116610LN yesterday from a UK AD.
Driving licence scanned. Warranty card swiped. All stickers removed. Sized for my wrist. It’s my first Rolex so don’t know if this is common practice. All the above didn’t bother me as it’s never being sold. |

I called a few local ADs yesterday for the new BLRO and one of the Goldsmiths shops told me they will only put you on the wait list if you make an appointment in person. They told me this was some Rolex was making all ADs do. Another chain I rang said they are not taking any names at all on the new releases (unlikely, maybe just not mine) and an another took my details over the phone.

Doesn't seem to sadly, been done over twice by that, managed to get good relationship with 2nd dealer, and then 3 yrs down the line they lost AD status, so back to square one with absolutely no chance of a Daytona

7 year waiting list.......hahahahah....... I feel bad for the person who spends 7 years waiting for that watch.
I bet the sales people are thinking that person who agrees to wait 7 years and puts down a deposit is a complete moron LOL |

No ID was asked for I was asked if I wanted the warranty card in my name. I was also asked if I wanted the stickers removed. Fitted perfect, so no sizing. I had the warranty card in my name and stickers removed, I've waited a while for the watch and no intentions of selling, it's for wearing and enjoying. Congratulations on your new purchase. |

Just heard from an GS AD they have been told from H/O they are to withhold warranty cards for 12 months on certain models moving forward!
Again it’s all about relationship with the AD’s but these rules just seem to be getting more popular and more extreme To some it will just be the norm and have no issues with it but I don’t like the whole feeling of being made to feel like you are honoured to be allowed to buy a Rolex and have to jump through these hoops to get it mentality, which I’m finding quite widespread in the UK |

I suppose a good thing
To stop people on waiting lists - getting the watch and on Ebay that day,, The people that actually want to wear the watch will move through lists quicker |

I could guess and say from an AD NO
However you could pick one up at a premium that was virtually new with stickers on this morning from a number of grey dealers |

It really amazes me this attitude by Rolex. We all have to work hard for our money, to be treated like Rolex is doing us a favour in allowing us to buy and wear their pieces. Sickening. From a huge Rolex fan boy who has a genuine love and appreciate of the quality of Rolex.
FU Rolex, I am no longer playing your games, off to Patek or AP I go. |

My AD told me the from April all waitlist models will withhold warranty for 12 months, remove stickers, size bracelet to you in the store.
heh, I don't mind as long they send or remind me about warranty card pickup 1 year later |

Rolex uk seem to have introduced even more rules......
I wonder when a recommendation becomes an instruction? It is incredible arrogance from any business to try and dictate to the consumer what they may or may not do with their personal property and follows in the very finest tradition of command economies. If they truly don't want to fuel the secondary market - which I find hard to believe as it directly reduces the consumers potential to negotiate - they should improve availability of their product. Surely history must have shown that a command economy is something which has never yet succeeded! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Bought a D-Blue about a month ago. Stickers removed but no mention of withholding the warranty card.

its really amazing how Rolex policy may vary in different countries. My AD (not UK) always allow me to bring home undated and unnamed card, though its swiped and registered.

Goldsmiths are now following this line, withhold warranty and face to face to go on a “list”.
This was brought in hours before Basel apparently. Not sure about the stickers though. I should add that will be for all SS sports watches. Don’t think they will be doing it on your new DD |

Bring it on, if it means I have a better chance of picking up at retail I'm in full support. Driving licence, passport, no stickers, in person, withhold warranty card? That's fine by me, here's my money.
Rolex should be commended for trying to be proactive here. |

I have even instructed my AD that I purchased a Hulk and BLNR from to keep the card to enable the watch to me sooner and instill some further trust. Its getting very silly in UK. |

My AD currently has my card for my daytona. I also had to sign an agreement not to sell it. I’ll fish it out and post it. None of this bothered me and still doesn’t

Earlier this week I saw several SS Rolex watches in the duty free area in Charles de Gaulle CDG Terminal 1 in Paris. These included Explorer II, GMT II, Air King, as well as several Date Just models. If there's such a famine of SS sports models, what reason could there be to sell them at a nice discount in airports?

Rolex has done a very good marketing job over the years making their watches more "exclusive" and increasing the snob factor. This appears to be part of that growing trend.
