YG Daytona and GMT BLNR for 5712G ???
Hi guys, I was offered a PP 5712G. He wants my new Daytona, Batman, and USD 1,000.
All three watches have boxes and papers. The 5712G is from 2016. My YG Daytona and Batman are both less than 3 months old..... Is this a good trade for me? I need to make a decision soon. Opinions are appreciated. Daytona.jpg and BLNR.jpg For: 5712G.jpg |

I'm not real familiar with the money on the Patek...but isn't that about a 50k watch?
If so, I think the money would be more than fair. But...money aside, would you be willing to part with two great watches? For me, it would boil down to what I wanted from my watch collection. Sometimes less is more...sometimes more is more. |

Two of my fav watches for one I don’t care for. I guess I’m biased.

That’s a great trade, $25k + $10k for a $40k Patek.

Very few Pateks really appeal to me; this one certainly doesn't. Daytonas don't do it for me either; however, if I was to have one, this is the one I'd want.
Hang on to the watches you have.

One of the least desirable Nautilus models. Pass.

Condition matters as well.
Money-wise, it seems like a fair deal, but that is not my favorite Nautilus model. |

I’d pass as well. Trying to flip out of the Patek will be much more difficult.

Just looking at the values, the trade looks to be in your favor, BUT the PP is going to be a lot more difficult to flip if you ever have to. I'd much prefer the Daytona and GMT in the long run. However, at the end of the day, you have to go with your gut and what makes you happy.

That deal is great! No doubt, as least to me. I would do it.
Are your use case scenarios covered? That YG Daytona is seriously legit. |

What do you mean by use case scenarios? Ye the YG Daytona is literally 1 week old. I picked it up last week from my AD and haven't worn it. |

Nope. Stay the course. Getting out of the patek is not going to be a quick turnaround.

Do you like the Patek? I personally don't care for it, so I wouldn't do the trade.

As much of the allure of owning a Patek may have I'd pass. Not that its even a consideration but from what I've read they require more frequent (and often costly) maintenance. I'd be considering total cost of ownership as part of the trade too. Good luck.

love the 5712... just not the G. If it was a 5712/1A then yes.
You won't get any traction on trading Rolex's for Pateks in this section though. |

Not for this little black duck either...there’s another current thread that has the BLNR on a Jubilee. Check it out and it may help you decide.

The PP 5712 is a very nice time piece. The question you have to ask yourself? Do I really like/need this time-piece? Once answered you need to consider the following
-Total cost of ownership, service Intervals, current collection This could be subject. You could list up the PROS and CONS of the deal, and then take the decision which you feel is best. Good luck |

The OP has two perfectly complementary pieces for reasons most of us would agree on. That Daytona is an absolute winner when you see it in the flesh--really gorgeous. Batman is not a personal favorite but let's face it, that watch is a classic. Nautilus is very model/dial/metal dependent when it comes to overall public desirability and resale. This is true with many Patek references. The model in question is not in the Top 3 or 4 and therefore you better be sure you like it because you will be trading two icons for a watch that will be relatively difficult to flip if you want to get out of it as fast as you do this Daytona. I would never do it. Slow down and love what you have. You've made great choices. So far. |

Do you like that particular Patek or is it simply just because its a Patek? As others have said itll be harder to get rid of if youre bored of it plus its not exactly the best looking Patek model imo and I'd not do it.

Not for that 5712.
