Best TV Show Ever

As a counterpoint to the worst TV show thread

This includes cable series as well.
I’ll start:

Breaking Bad.

Just fantastic

As a kid, I hated M*A*S*H when my parents would watch it. It was not until I was older and it was in syndication that I really began to appreciate it. Terrific show.

Seinfeld was a good one. I liked seeing Jerry wearing a Breitling.

This, plus Boardwalk Empire. On the lighter side besides Seinfeld, The Office...

Best TV Show Ever

In addition to those listed (especially Breaking Bad and the Wire), The Simpsons. For all the mediocre seasons/episodes, there is enough classic stuff in that show to cover all of life. Sticking to cartoons I’ll throw in South Park. Not everyone’s cup of tea I know, and a lot of crap episodes that are needlessly crass, but when it’s good it’s absolutely brilliant.

Game of Thrones is up there for me as well, or at least the first 5 seasons. Lots do great newer TV too: Atlanta and Black Mirror.

Just got done binging a BBC(?) show called Fortitude and I highly recommend it. Kind of a cross between Fargo, True Detective and the X files. Starts slow but when it gets going, d*** it’s good.

My all time favourite is Sports Night. A sitcom set as behind the scenes at a sports channel.
Deadwood, The Wire, Mad men, the Americans, breaking bad are all good as well

Coincidentally this is the third time in 2 weeks someone has recommended Sports Night, so I definitely need to check it out. I’d never even heard of the show before 2 weeks ago.
