SHoudl I do it?
Wanted to get some opinions from the great minds of this sub-forum. Every beginning of the year, I get the itch to buy a new piece or trade something out. I got my Rolex SD43 last week and I thought it would hold me over, but it obviously didn't since I'm starting this thread.
I was thinking about trading in my RG44 for a ROC RG 26331 blue dial. The ROC picture is a random photo from the net. The 44RG photo is my actual watch. I am still awaiting the arrival of my blue dial SS Skydweller sometime in the next two months. Would another blue dial be redundant? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

I'm fortunate enough to own both of these. The ROC is a lovely watch, the blue dial just dazzles in sunlight. It would be a difficult and close choice, but if I had to keep just one it would be the RG44.

I considered and almost completed the same trade for a 26331ORblue dial for my RG44 black subdials. However, the 26331OR was full bracelet and I would have added a few thousand.
As badly as I wanted the full RG bracelet and as accessible as it was, I decided it was better for me to keep and add later as I was not completely done with my RG44 yet. In your case, the 26331OR looks great with the strap, but IMO that is a backwards trade and I would never even consider that trade at all unless you are over the size of the 44mm and are looking for something smaller and dressier. |

No, only for ROC with bracelet!
For ROC strap no! ROC have a more stable movement and you can have surprize like on ROO! Also more accuracy! |

Re Xerxes77 post, there's a world of a difference between the ROC on strap or bracelet. On strap (mine is now on rubber rather than leather) it has a distinctly sporty feel and isn't heavy. On a bracelet it is no longer sporty and is very high viz and heavy. I know because I was looking at 'upgrading' mine. In addition, and for me importantly, there's no way of sizing the bracelet when worn. So if it's sized to fit snugly (which it needs to be because of weight) when cool, it will be uncomfortably tight if you get hot. This is a big issue for me.
Purely by chance, I wore my blue ROC yesterday, and it is nice. Today, I wore my RG44 and can confirm, in my eye the RG44 is absolutely much more desirable than the ROC. Admittedly I've just cleaned it with "Wristclean", (which is amazing!), but no, I would not exchange - keep you RG44, particularly as its the older better version The RG44 is a true AP classic... |

Another thing who can consider it’s size! I like big watch but for me AP 44 it’s too big. Also I think even are in rg ROC remain a Sport-Casual watch! This is my opinion about 44rg regard look! Also another problem it’s movement! I have my ROC blue dial 26331 from October and I can say today that movement work better then my Rolex! I have in the past few ROO with 3126/3840 movement and it’s a movement with many problems who AP don’t solve yet. You can read how many people are problems with ROO and I don’t see anyoane to have problems with ROC! In the end I can tell I like AP ROO 44 but if I have to choose I will take ROC! |

Your opinion Xerxes77, but I disagree totally.
The RG ROC on bracelet is heavy, from the point of view if its not sized correctly for hot/cold it will be be annoying - perhaps you didn't understand this? Its not the weight, but the fit. I don't know weight specifics, but on bracelet the ROC is heavier than the RG on rubber strap. The movement on my RG44 is better than on the ROC. The RG44 keeps better time and is easier to 'hack' and reset. Indeed you can't hack the ROC, as it doesn't stop. |

Nothing quite like a Royal Oak Bracelet! But at the end of the day, do your thing, I'm sure you'll be happy regardless.

I got the point Neil.. It's pretty obvious what the forum thinks. Maybe I get a new strap for the RG44 and see if that changes things up? Or maybe it's really time to take a hard look at the Patek 5726 or the ALS Dato I've been wanting...

You could try putting it on a black with red edging leather strap? I've not done it myself but others have.

Keep your 44 or trade for full bracelet ROC. As for SkyDweller being redundant with another blue dial...No totally different watch. The SkyDweller is a fantastic watch so congrats in advance!

Yes, put it on the GP strap with red sides for sure, really transforms the look, I love it on mine, somehow the gold and red works incredibly well together.

If you like gold and can carry it off, go for it. Gold goes well on a smaller piece like the ROC. And the ROC just looks sharp. However, the new in-house chronos should be out next year. If that bothers you, you might want to wait a while.

I didn't want to have both RG pieces (wife issues ) so I still bought a 44ti on the same deal with my boy Than!!! all the way from Texas!!! I have the GP strap too you can strap it on your watch to see if you like it! let me know. I'll buy you lunch too.. at my restaurant though.... |
