I like the 60th SM 300 more than the maxi sub. It's already a close call IMO with the older 5 digit/4 digits that I like more.......the Omega reissue of the CK 2913 is a near perfect execution of the iconic diver from Omega....sports an impressive movement inside (master chronometer) as well meeting the highest standards. Sorry as much as I love both brands, I'd honestly pick the Omega in this case and it wouldn't be close for me. That said, it's not a Rolex and if that's important to you, you know what to do.

P.S. I find it funny most people don't even know the watch you're talking about and are comparing the wrong watches. This is what the OP is talking about (as stated previously by jfmii):

...come on... i don’t mean to be an a**hole but Omega has so many “special” issues that they are no longer special. I know the same can be said for Hulks, but in your case I’d easily go ND sub. Better yet, get a 14060 and an older Tritium Speedy. Just my two cents. Good luck hunting!!

Omega really dilutes their brand every time they release another “special edition.” That’s of the reasons the only Omega I will ever own is a Speedmaster Pro in Hesalite.

Thank you sensui for adding the pros of the Omega Seamaster 300 60th anniversary model.

Initially I was eyeing a Speedy 60th anniversary last May for possible reservation but decided to get a Moonwatch Pro Hesalite version which I was very happy. So between the Seamaster and the Railmaster, I was enamored more on the SM hence this dilemma. Thank you for your valuable inputs as always!

But this is a reissue which I am willing to take a shot on this timepiece.

No offense taken :). Getting as many inputs that I can get. And while the consensus is on the Sub C ND, I am beginning to think that the Seamaster 300 60th Anniversary Edition is indeed a very special timepiece. I’ll ponder on this decision and will update the forum.

Btw here’s the pic that I’ve taken at my AD yesterday.

I own the Sub no date and the 60th Seamaster 300. They really are very different watches.

Having read your posts I say go with the 300. As you like the vintage look, this will scratch that urge nicely. It wears very nicely on me. My wrist is a svelte 6.4inches. I've never worn it on the bracelet as I find it too shiny for my tastes. The supplied dark brown NATO really makes the dial pop.

I love my Sub too. As stated above. Fit and finish are off the charts. Of course, you already know this owning the Hulk.

When I get home tomorrow I'll take some photos of them together for you.

It's a nice dilemma to have :-)

Omega in this case, not caring if it’s a limited edition, nor if the brand is “diluted”, it’s simply a better looking watch with a great movement

OP, as has been stated ... Plus your handie is
“Rolexavidfan” ... this should be a slam dunk
for the Sub C ND...

Should you decide to go sideways .
and get the Omega I’d plan on passing it down as an
heirloom to avoid taking a bath on it if you decide to flip ...

Each Omega is a limited edition or an anniversary something. This has devaluated the brand imho and put me off.

Submariner by far

For me, the fake patina on the hour markers kills it for me as it's way overdone. Otherwise, I really like the Omega. The 114060 is my favorite watch of all time. It's gets 95% of my wrist time.

Good luck.

I previously posted and said you should get the Sub and I still believe that, but here is the one Seamaster that would make me hesitate a little (Spectre 007). Too bad they’re no longer available.

I especially dig the GMT bezel. I think that’s the most practical GMT function on the market today.

Would need some additional info

Is this your only watch?

Do you already own a Rolex?

Even without knowing that I would lean Sub.

I have nothing against Omega used to own one, but I still think Rolex has a little better product, better marketing, and definitely holds value better.

Sub is an iconic watch and if it’s only one do it. Now if you have a Rolex maybe I would get the Omega.

My biggest issue is they really don’t have special editions as they keep releasing.

BTW if you go the Omega route I would not buy from an AD at all. You can definitely get at least 20% off from a trusted seller.

Don’t you think asking to choose a Rolex or an Omega on TRF would just give you a bias answer?

Rolex Sub C ND is my vote.

Thank you and I agree. The inflated subs do nothing for me, they have none of the soul or character of the earlier models.

If you plan on keeping for a long time, then get the Omega. If you’re a flipper get the sub. If you plan on getting both eventually then get the Omega first then sub. The Omega is more of a unique watch while the sub is a regular production watch but the sub’s finishing is much better.

I’d go seamaster here. If I read correctly, you have a hulk, so the 60th LE seamaster adds some variety and is a very good looking watch.

I get what people say about omega and their LE’s, but they nailed these 3. They are very nice watches (but I would say that having a railmaster).

Since you have an LV, would go with seamaster but if you didn’t then would go w sub no question. I would also go for a 14060m over seamaster w your LV. Seamaster is nice and they did a good job w this edition but on the wrist the 14060 wins

I had the no date Sub and sold it, now I want it back. It was so simple, classic, and just seem to shine all the time. I miss it, and will end up buying it again. You won't be sorry, buy the Sub.

I tend to agree with you on the better looking and unique timepiece (bi directional bezel with reverse minutes inscription).

Maybe true could be their business model ... but no matter how cliche it may sound — we do buy watches that sing to us. Somehow this Seamaster 300 60th sings to me nicely!

Thanks for the Seamaster Spectre pic. It does look really nice! Maybe if I would start collecting the James Bond Omegas, this would definitely be one of these. Thank you for chiming in.
