Sky Dweller or GMT Master II BLNR
Ok. Here's the thing.
I have a DateJust 2 116334 with rhodium arabic dial. I have been thinking of late to exchange this (I can get between £4k with the dealer (hoping for more as watchfinder offered £4.7k) and purchase the SkyDweller White Gold (White dial). I would put £2k down on this watch also, which would mean I would owe £4k. Now, as of this morning.. things have become a little bit more complex! Ha! I've seen the GMT Master II 116710BLNR - thats £6550. I could put down £2k again and owe £4.5k and thus in turn, have two watches. What are everyones thoughts on my dilema - I really wanted the SD as of this morning! Lol Thanks |

I have a TT GMT and a pink SkyD. The SkyD wins hands down and could be easily my only watch.
Annual calendar with GMT function, very nice complication. In WG preferably on bracelet, simply stunning. Go for the PM SkyD

So now you are thinking of WG SkyDweller? What happened to the SS white you were getting? As for choice between SkyDweller and BLNR? I go with SkyDweller but for me I own both and they make for a great pair!

I would say depends on your preferences and your current collection. I would personally prefer DJ+GMT over SkyD if those were my only watches, because it gives you more diversity to match how you feel today. However if I had other sports watches I would chose a single SkyD. Also to make sure we are on the same page, did you mean WG SkyD or SS+WG, since from price you seem to be getting it for (4k from DJ + 2k down + 4k you will owe, if I understood correctly), it has to be SS. Personally for me the bracelet of SS SkyD ruins it, PM looks much better. I'd say if you can, try both on and decide based on what you prefer more. Maybe you won't like BLNR in person, or maybe you will prefer it over SkyD.

It’s a moot point, however, as you won’t get a BLNR or a Sky D at retail this side of 2019 in the UK from an AD. Maybe the BLNR but not the Sky D. If your going grey market your BLNR will cost you circa £8.5k BNIB and the white Sky D around £14k BNIB.

Just dont know whether it'd be best to own one expensive piece (the SS SD) or two Rolex's (My DJII and a GMTII) This is so difficult!! |

Get the Sky D. As you’ve said it’s amazing in person. You’ll have to pay a premium or face a long wait though.

Agree it does enable more diversification - I just honestly dont know what to do thats why its good to get you guys valuable input. Yeah, it would be the SS SkyD Not tried the GMTII on or even seen in person. Just contemplating what is best. This all started because I wanted the blue SS SD, but then I seen the white and I'd be happy with that too. |

Personally I would like to have 2 watches instead of 1. The blnr covers the casual /sporty occasions while the dj covers the dressy/formal occasions.

Both would make a great pair. Sell the DJ, buy one of the two you're looking at and save for the other. You're welcome.

1- BLNR is a nicer watch imho
2- having two watches gives you options Go for the BLNR

Tough call. Would be an easier decision if the choice was for a PM SKD. I’d go with the BLNR over the SS SKD, but only because I like the PM SKD better.

just one watch. If it is OK for you to own one watch, and you don't even know if you will like BLNR, then just get a SkyD and enjoy it. |

Have you spoken to an AD about availability? You may be surprised how few of any dial colours are coming through

Really contemplated on trading my blnr for a SD blue dial. But I figured I love my blnr so much and we've been through a lot together that I'd just add the SD when the time is right.

What’s the waiting list for a BLNR? Do you or anyone else happen to know? For the UK ideally?

An AD quoted me 5 years the other day for a BLNR and 15,yes 15 years for a Daytona Either way, unless you have some seriously hot contacts, you’ll have a pretty long wait If you want one at RRP (£6550) |

If you are a one watch only kind of guy, SkyD then would be my choice. But, since I do like variety (also having a watch to wear if the other one is being serviced), personally I would pick the BLNR to add to the DJ2.

The Sky-D is a fine reference but not too sure I’d want it as my one and only. The BLNR is a great watch to compliment the gorgeous DJ2 you already have!

Yeah - anyone know what it’ll mean to the watch now they are discontinued? It is a gorgeous watch!
BLNR 5yr wait too?! Surely not :/ - 6mths is long enough lol |
