SS SkyDweller or DateJust II AND GMT Master II BLNR

Hi

Answers on a post card (or well, a forum for now!)

Do I;

1) Buy GMT Master II BLNR (£6,950) and own this with my existing DateJust II (Paid £6.1k worth £4.7k second hand) 116334 (2013)

or

2) Sell my DJII and buy a SS SkyDweller (£10,600) - Thus own one watch, but an expensive one?

Choice 1 for me. They are two exceptional Rolex models.

What colour dial Skydweller? If it's blue I would opt for the Skydweller.

Blue would be my choice, but then everyone elses choice!

I would sell your DJ and get the SkyDweller. All colors of it are very nice. I prefer black myself could be happy with any of the 3. This is now 4th thread on a SkyDweller so if you really want it go for it. You seem unsure though so perhaps don’t do anything until you know what you actually want.

Choose Option 1 for sure because you would own 2 nice watches. However, you would lose money immediately if you choose Option 2.

The more important question is: can you get either watches you’re talking about??
If both are available for you (which is hard) then go with the BLNR as the ss skyD just got released last year and I expect it will become a little more available as time goes (just my speculations) but BLNR there are “rumors” might get discontinued soon

At the end Buy what you like!

Is that a bad thing if it gets discontinued?

Not if you have one, but bad if you want to buy. I don't think it is likely at all, lots of money invested in it and it is flying off the shelves, so the LN is more likely to go for a SS RONR or PepC imho.

I like the BLNR and DJ41 not DJ2, but I would probably get the SkyD.

Of your options, I would go with #2 and get a Sky-D. Full disclosure though, the BLNR does not sing for me.

What I would really do, however, is option #3. Sell the DJ and get a BLRO.

It would be good if you could try on the SkyDweller, depending on your wrist size if it is not too small. I would go with #2 and get a Sky-D. I am located in the UK and the steel and yellow gold TT are not so difficult to get.

However the Blue Dial may have longer waiting list. I recommend you do your research and try one on for size.

Good luck

I’m always a big proponent of adding and not selling. Unless the watch really doesn’t sing. Do you actually want to sell your DJii? Or are you just reaching for the SkyD. Figure that part out and I think you’re on your way to your answer.

Go for the SkyD you have both the functionalities of a DJ and GMT in one stunning watch, especially the blue. If you can get it at list price then go for it

I wouldn’t be able to do that as I would need the money if I sold my DJ2 to buy the SkyD.

I can afford the BLNR on its own without selling my DateJust2

Yeah, I’m UK too. 2-3yrs or so waiting time apparently. 30 on the list for the blue SkyD.

Any idea of the waiting time for the BLNR?

Sell DJ II and get BLNR and Sky-Dweller perhaps?

I wouldn’t be able to do that! Couldnt afford the SkyD without the funds from DJ2 unfortunately

It is a tough call in this case. They are both great watches although the BLNR is perhaps less flashy and sportier hence better for everyday wear as you can wear with a suit or jeans. So is the Sky-D although a tad dressier due to the bezel.

I hear that my DJ2 116334 has been discontinued. On this basis, should I sell it or keep a hold of it?

Not really sure what this means for the watch? Namely the value

Yeah, true! So difficult this haha! Nice dilemma tho!

White or Blue - or add BLNR and keep this DJ2! Decisions! Lol!

Look and functionality, and more with the SkyD. #2 would be my vote.
