Value Retention/Collectibility of PAM690
Hey all,
I am smitten with the 690. I’ve always bought brand new but never Panerai. Paying over retail for 5 year old model is new territory for me.. will this one hold long term value in your opinion? |

It has essentially maintained its value so far and they don’t come up for sale that often. Absolutely love mine. If you dig it I wouldn’t hesitate.

You should be able to get one preowned for 9k or so.

They seem to be holding their value pretty steady. If you like it, go for it!
It is a stunner! |

Used to trade around $12k iirc So it has dropped some-what now. The msrp in 2016 when release was $8900 afaik Honestly, if value is most important, panerai is not it atm, imho. Most panerai has dropped in value in last year, from what I can see... So it felt like a good time to buy, if u were planning to buy one. Lol I recently traded a Rolex for a Panerai, so u know how I feel about the 690. Lol This thread needs pics

They've been holding steady at, or close to original retail price.
I paid $1000 over in 2016 and don't mind one bit. It's a keeper in my books. Good luck, its a great watch 20201202_120835.jpg20190913_121628.jpg20180324_161423.jpg Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

I regret not getting the 690 when it was in production, it is a stunning watch. Currently at Chron024 there are 2 listings at $12.5K. DavidSW has one at $10.5K. Good luck.

It really is a cool blend only modern and throw back IMO. The domed crystal is insane and the case has really interesting lines. Its also extremely comfortable to wear. Much more so than my larger Rolex divers were Good luck Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

I’ve got a James Cameron (126660), I assume this will be a featherweight compared to that!

OP, the 932 is still available from Panerai afaik. Main difference would be the dial. 690 has a satin soleil dial with one line on top and one line on bottom. 932 has a gradient dial with two lines on top.

You might find the 932 at an AD but Panerai says they don't have it anymore.

690 is in a class of it's own, IMHO. 932 is a beauty, but it is not in the same class...different blue dial, silver hands, readily available....
I'm about to pick up a 690 from someone i've been talking to for quite some time. He's finally ready to part with it and our timing is working out it seems.

Agree. The 932 would be a no questions asked piece...if the 690 didn’t exist. all_in_the_pamily on IG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's a gorgeous watch, I tried one on back in 2016 at a grey dealer but he wanted too much over retail, but it sure was beautiful.
