Is everyone a breitling hater till they own one?

I was a big Breitling fan several years ago. Their movements and eventually their bulkiness is why I left the brand. To be honest, when I started getting into higher end brands, I pretty much lost all of my interest in Breitling, a lot due to the cost of ownership vs overall value. Their in-house movement unreliability and their size sealed the deal as far as I’m concerned.

Breitling can make some watches look like Rolexes on acid, but they are very well made with great dial detailing and their bracelets are the best in their class as are their straps. Since I became interested in watches, Mrs Van D has noticed that most of the pilots she flies with wear a Breitling.

Those that are in to their watches usually notice her Rolex and then pipe up something along the lines of 'we're obviously paying you too much'

They are probably only half joking as pilots are higher up in the pecking order but a Rolex is "higher" than a Breitling. I hope she tells them my husband's a WIS otherwise she's playing with their egos.

Yea, I have a large aviation group of friends and associates. Breitling is by far the aviators watch of choice. These guys own all their own planes/jets and money isn’t a issue in their time piece choice.

My neighbor loves to buzz my home and tip his wings. He gives rides that don’t disappoint.
