Nato straps - good enough for world military warfare on the battleground - but not the fairway.

As others have said a nato should be more secure than everything else, especially in the case of a spring bar breakage as it has inbuilt redundancy ... and it was good enough for bond.

Also mega props to the gentleman who handed your watch in - that is a dying breed these days!

Lastly, as noted elsewhere, impact such a sporting endeavours can break mechanical watch movements so maybe another lesson here is not to wear it while golfing in future :)

People have been golfing with Rolex watches for decades. Should the watch break, you simply fix it. No biggie.

Congrats on getting your watch back. The thought of a mower going over it sends shivers down my spine.

I am sure Miguel wasn't offended at all by the Mexican beer - I know I would drink any kind of beer if it was free!!!

Take a chance with what? These are Rolex watches, which are made to be worked. Obviously, if you wear it loose like Jack does, it may just get in the way, but no reason to worry about hurting it.

If a NATO strap is put on correctly on the tight side under slight tension i.e. not loose as most seem to wear the Rolex, IMO the chance of loosing a watch must be near impossible!
I speak from some experience having lost, luckily a cheap watch, not with a NATO strap whilst backpacking. Have always thought due to spring bar failure.
If wearing a cheap watch a NATO strap is essential.
A Rolex is not so easy to loose IMO with normal bracelet as the spring bars seem to be an excellent fit with the bracelet.

Nice job Miguel - not many people that would do that nowadays its seems. Good on you for showing your appreciation.

NATO straps are secure - that's why they were designed. Takes a massive failure of some kind to lose a watch.

Any watch that can't handle rounds of golf is a POS.
