Hi Claud,
If a Rolex comes from an AD the papers would be completed in the purchaser's name and would be stamped and dated. The warranty would run from that date and for that owner. Blank papers generally mean the watch has come from the grey market and the warranty would not be from AD, more likely from the grey dealer himself. I have not heard of unnamed papers, stamped by an AD. This would be an ideal scenario, grey dealer prices, Rolex warranty and unnamed papers.

BUT: As far as the rumours go, the date letters are (being - or have already have been) discontinued. So at that time it would be ideal. But then again: at the time the date letters are gone, the certificate would be the new plastic one, probably dated.

Grey Market are watches sold by brokers that purchase watches from around the world. They are not authorized dealers but sell genuine Rolex watches. They generally don't have a brick store and do business over the internet or telephonically.

YES! And potentially more than that since it is not dated. It's a two year guarantee from the DATE. But again: there are those date letters that would tell something is wrong is you dated it yourself in say 5 years

And this is where I'm confused. Many posts from forum members here said that RUSA won't handle warranty claims for Rolexes they're not selling, ie. from grey dealer. But what about tourist who happen to have his/her Rolex damaged during stay in US? RUSA would never touch that simply because they think it's a grey dealer's thing?

Check your watch against a reliable source for example an atomic clock on the internet, at the same time 2 days in a row and you will have the differance.

With the elimination of the ship date stamp from Rolex, warranty papers now can be counterfeited, if it does not have an AD's name and address on it, it's a 50/50 proposition.

If you bought the Rolex from an Authorized Dealer and their name is printed on the warranty, all you need to do is fill out your name and address on the CUSTOMER line and date the warranty and you should be able to have the service done with no problem. The sales person that sold you the watch should have filled these out for you before you left the store. This is a big no-no to Rolex and if you bring the papers not filled out to the RSC the store who's name is printed on them will probably get a phone call.
If your watch was not purchased from an AD and you got blank papers with the watch, you can try to have warranty service done but either way the warranty was invalid anyway so you don't have anything to lose.
