Hi all and thanks for having me.
Let me start by saying that I know nothing at all about watches of any sort and until yesterday I have never touched a Rolex watch which is why I am here, get help from those in the know. I came across a Rolex watch marked "Oyster-perpetual datejust", it also has on the face "superlative chronometer officially certified". The back of the watch is I think not genuine (if any of it is) as it just has " stainless steal back water resistant" on it the same as my $6 Big-W watch, it has a electronic movement which is marked "Prestige Time CO LTD TK Swiss parts movement china" and "1 one jewel ISA317". With what I have found so far regarding information on this watch, none seem to take a battery. What I would like to know is "if" this is a genuine Rolex or a known copy, what sort of battery does it take? I would like to see if it works or not and if its a fake or not before deciding what to do with it. If anyone is interested I was in a box of junk bought at an auction for $8, did not know it was in the box till we got home.

Can you post pics? Rolex did manufacture an OysterQuartz DateJust before and the case and bracelet end links were integrated.

I don't think the quartz movement would be made in asia...

Also, I believe the oyster quartz case back had no engraving on it.

Perhaps the owners of oyster quartz can chime in to give you definitive answers.

Oyster quartz should look similar to the FS post at TZ - http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...84#msg_2905739

looks very similar to the one in the link but there are some things different. Will try and get better daylight pics if needed. If this is a fake, I still have never touched a Rolex

The battery is a dead give away. Also, anything saying China is also all the way wrong. Fake. Sorry.

it looks like the watch was well loved and worn.It is a terrrible fake. The case is not even stainless steel but probably base metal or brass case with silver plating. The band is rolled links but not Rolex rollex links. The Oyster-Perpetual is a flaw sometimes when people get there genuine dials redone, but on that watch it should say OYSTERQUARTZ.

Well by those discriptions afraid its 250% junk the clue "Prestige Time CO LTD TK Swiss parts movement china" and "1 one jewel ISA317".
