Interesting!

Funny, however, that Rolex has not mentioned it at all.

it seems that the previous model was not cetified and probably that is why people are amazed. Everybody was waiting for the Cosc certified version cause it's a beautiful and simple watch.

Correct Rob just like the Explorer that was COSC tested but exactly the same movement in every way as the airking and non date sub.Now IMO the COSC test today is no more than a pure marketing ploy.As nearly all modern day made movements with a bit of patience and regulating could pass the COSC test. Now this test cost the various manufactures around £120-£140 per uncased bare movement and this is a considerable cost in lesser cost watches. The fact is every Rolex movement made for the last 40 plus years could easily pass the COSC test. And a Rolex quote from a few years back Rolex Quote. "We don’t use COSC to tell us how good our movements are," said a source deep inside the Wilsdorf Rolex foundation. "We test them ourselves. All we want is the chronometer certification, it’s only for marketing."...

So does this mean that the new versions will look like the 16610.....only without the date feature?? I think this may jus tempt me to buy this as my first MODERN Rolex.

No it will look exactly the same as the old 14060M,the only difference will be the wording superlative chronometer on dial
