Excuse my ignorance, but why does water intrusion necessitate a new movement?
I could understand with a Quartz movement, but I would have thought a mechanical movement could be salvaged.

People are always warning that ceramic bezels can potentially shatter or crack on TRF, but this is the first time I've seen a pic of a damaged ceramic bezel.

There has been a few around here Dave. Three BLRO inserts at the moment I believe. Probably several on Subs but most people do not like to discuss the heartbreak

When I first got my DSSD, I seemed to keep slamming it hard against door jams all the time. It was like a magnet for getting banged around hard. I also flooded my Citizen dive watch twice scuba diving to depths in excess of 265 ft.

We should all have such a horrible experience.

Nailed it while walking through the door, on the solid steel frame at the department of homeland security building, immigration court division.

The resulting sound, a resonating ding from the note of the steel sounded and got all the guards attentions and quick. I had nine eyes on me right away.

Barely made a little mark on the bezel. I was very happy with Rolex gold as being far stronger than I'll ever need. It shrugged it off like it was nothing.

Literally did this same exact thing to my submariner last week. I wear my scratches and scars with pride.

Felt like nails on a chalkboard though.

What's the worst you've ever damaged your rolex

Very similar story from me, however I did save my nephew from severe injury in the process.

It was brand new so was a little painful as this was my first scratch.

Good memory !

I had a spare link in the box so got my AD to swap out the one most severely damaged link. I'll get them all sorted come service time.

Bracelet still scratched but not nearly as bad.

In hindsight it was the best thing really. I keep hearing on here that the first scratch is always the worst. I've not given it a second thought since and now just enjoy my watches without any worry.

scratched a lug on my Submariner putting on a NATO strap when I first got the watch - nothing major, considered it a "well it's mine now!" scratch.

Hit my Tudor big block's acrylic crystal against a door knob, which didn't scratch it but scuffed it. Need to buff that out still. Can only see it under certain light. Enough to be annoying, however!

Smashed very angry my left hand (nearly broken) on a table and my 1520 movement stopped. Once opened I saw one of the balance pivots bended. New balance, new service and solved!!
Stress and nervous at work made me change my way of life. Amazing how a specific job can destroy your health and life. Also to choose a bad partner...

I work in the automatic transmission industry and use a dssd everyday. This thing has taken a beating all its life. 3 bezels, 2 crystals, 2 overhauls and now possibly a new case from a big gouge near the HR valve.

Considering what the watch has been through I'm suprised I haven't needed more. Props to rolex for making an indestructible watch!
