No Holes Case!

What is meant by a 'no holes case' - the fact that the holes on the lugs are not visible from the outside?

Is that more desirable? Besides 'aesthetics' is there a benefit to having an no-holes case?

Is there a year when they started incorporating no-holes into the Rolex line - or it varies by the watch?

Does that make switching out the band/bracelet more difficult?

Thanks for help with all the questions!

On older Rolex watches they are.
