Thanks Again for everyone's feedback.
The vote is still pretty close. I located a WG an hour away, so I am making a roadtrip tonight or tomorrow. I'll post pics of the WG next to the RG when I get back |

Very difficult and one I've given a lot of thought to. My collection is all white metal and my one concern would be spending this amount on something that just sort of blends in with the rest. RG would avoid that, so that's how I voted. Love the looks of both of them.

Just thought I would update this thread and bring it to a conclusion.
Very close poll - slight edge to WG at time of this post. I tried both the RG and WG on and kinda like the RG better of the two, though very close - both are beautiful!! BUT... I am not going to pull the trigger on either. Reminded me too much of why I let my WG Sub go, which was NOT the beauty or the looks, but the feel, heaviness an unease on my small wrist. Lately comfort has been winning over PM as my collection reflects - 3 SS pieces, 1 RG on rubber (very comfy). NOTE: I only post this because I have seen many threads started and then no conclusion by OP. I always like to hear the outcome, and don't like to be left hanging, so this is me not leaving you/TRF hanging... |

Green is better in WG, IMO... However, the chocolate dial in RG is a stunner.

Have you thought about the rose gold yachtmaster on rubber if you're looking for comfort? Good luck!

Rose gold is better and looks good on green dial.

If someone offered to give you one of these two,
Which would you choose, ROSE 228235 or WHITE 228239? Hi there, well, I wait for the moment and choose instinctively. For you on the other hand, well, if you live in Florida, if you have a gold Aquanaut, if you have a white Porsche: I would choose RG FOR YOU, dear P.S.:I would most probably change the dial after a while. RG:chocolate or darkpearl with diamonds, WG: blue or black or dark rhodium stick or diamonds. For me... |

You're spending a lot of money on a watch and you're not sure what colour suits you? I think the colour of watch depends on your skin tone. I am fair skinned (Scottish so the sun is a rarity!) I wear stainless steel because it suits my colour better. I think your skin colour is best for determining your watch colour. Good luck nice watch I would get the WG if for me, best wishes.

Both beauties,I would go white gold though as I could use it everyday not sure I could pull off rose gold even though I love it.

Guess that also goes to show the benefit of seeing them in the metal and trying them on...glad you came to the conclusion to not buy vs buying and regretting.

I have had both of these watches on my wrist quite a bit of the past month or so. The key to the green dial is, you must see it in person. It's absolutely gorgeous. Bounces around with the light. That being said, I want a stick dial. Personally I like to be able to tell what time it is in something other than bright light.
My second consideration has been white gold or Rosegold. It really is all about your skin tone and color. On my white Irishman Norwegian. Yellow gold is absolutely out of the question. I look like a used car salesman. Rose gold, however is much more subtle and works great. White gold looks good on everybody. The nagging question for me with the white gold has been, why am I spending this much money on what looks like a stainless steel watch? I realize it's just for me, and it is, but it really will not differentiate itself much from all my other watches, and that's about me. So I'm choosing rose gold. Any moment now, any moment. |

Rose Gold looks special with the Green Dial.
Wonder why Rolex neglected the "Original President" - Yellow Gold when releasing 60th Anniv. day date 40s.

For me this comes down to what else you have in your collection. The WG DD40 with any dial is more versatile than the RG IMO. If it's a one and only, or one in very few, I would go WG. If you have other daily user casual watches, I'd go for the RG.
Both are absolutely stunning with the Green Dial. |

Here are a few more pics I was meaning to post...
Note: These pics don't really do the DD40 Green justice. I like both Hulk and DD40 Green equally, two of my favorite dials along with ice blue Platona, and 5711p/5980-1AR blue. In these pics, the DD40 green looks better in person, the Hulk green well represented here. Enjoy WGDD40.jpg 2016-10-23_14-07-02.jpg DD40-Hulk.jpg Also interesting that lately WG is pulling away from RG in the poll... It was closer early on. |

WG with green dial!!
The olive green is a more pleasant shade than the green Sub however, well in my opinion anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gorgeous shots Ken - wow! You do the watch better justice with your pics!
I need to edit one of my previous posts, because a DD40 is still hot on my radar. I have been back to my AD 3x to try various DD40's on. WG and RG green still my favorites (though I want to see a blue dial in person too). |
