Looks like it could use a trip to Michael Young for repair.

If it bothers you, send to MY or replace as advised. But, how is it on the wrist? If it suits the overall appearance of the watch head, why bother fixing a band without a full restoration?

Looks very fragile in that condition.

Take care if you wear it.

Its quite badly worn but have seen worst, could be repaired and far cheaper than a new bracelet.

I would not wear as is because the bracelet pins could break as they are worn down thin.

I agree. On vintage 36mm pieces I've had them like that. To me, it's very comfortable and doesn't detract from the look of the watch.

So I just didn't know what to do.

I really didn't want to send the bracelet over to MY in Hong Kong and didn't want to exchange for the super jubilee through Rolex and pay those prices.

I ended up buying a previously loved authentic one online. The seller said it had about 75-80% life and it ran about $550

Opinions?

Well the only thing is MY would have been just as much with all the welding he would have had to do. Plus I was reading the welding wasn't all that great looking.

I was quoted from both Dallas and NY RSC $2200 WITH exchange. I wanted to keep the old bracelet, that was a no go for that price.

The only issue I had is it would have been the super jubilee, not the original jubilee.

This is my late fathers old watch and I want to keep it as original as possible. I understand that it might cost me to keep it original but its worth it in my opinion.

80% life is good for me, I just started the weekly washing routine. I even bought a really nice ultrasonic cleaner.
