This is my late fathers old watch and I want to keep it as original as possible. I understand that it might cost me to keep it original but its worth it in my opinion.

80% life is good for me, I just started the weekly washing routine. I even bought a really nice ultrasonic cleaner.
NOT worth it. 2 options: (1) Michael Young; (2) get a nice leather strap for it. I would lean towards (2).

I really didn't want to send the bracelet over to MY in Hong Kong and didn't want to exchange for the super jubilee through Rolex and pay those prices.

I ended up buying a previously loved authentic one online. The seller said it had about 75-80% life and it ran about $550

Opinions?

OP, what you will find out on this forum is that most won't read the follow up posts and simply reply to the original post.

I think that response was to your original post, not your purchase of a used one.

I think I would do the same as you did, given the circumstances, as long as the new used bracelet was original and in good shape.

Yes, so I see with the follow up posts.

Yeah, I think I like the idea i'm pursuing. I do have 30 days to look it over. I will have it checked out.

I just couldn't part with my fathers bracelet.

If comfortable on the wrist wear it

I have seen a lot worse and I have not seen a jubilee bracelet break yet. I have seen a few .

Is it me, or do Jubilees tend to stretch more than Oyster bracelets? Maybe it’s because Jubilees are older? Or maybe it’s the physical structure of the Jubilee vs. Oysters?

From what I understand is that the older Jubilees stretch a lot more. The super jubilees are solid and hold better.

I agree, from worst to least... Jubilee>President>Oyster. I believe it has to do with the total number of links on the bracelet. The more links the more wear points. Shouldn't be as much of an issue with the newer bracelets with ceramic sleeves.
