Most Beautiful Watch: Rolex DD40 Everose/Olive Green

Almost a year ago, I first saw a photo of the Rolex Day-Date 40 in Everose Gold with Olive Green dial. I commented to a friend that it is the most beautiful watch I had ever seen. It still is, and I feel very fortunate that in the not-to-distant future, I will own one:

I have been looking for the perfect gold watch for some time. As I only intend to have one gold watch, I have to make the right choice. As a matter of fact, I left looking at the Everose Gold DD40 until the end of my search. I was a little bit afraid that the Everose Gold just might be too pink or for some reason it would not suit me. Luckily, my fears were unjustified. I tried on an Everose DD40 on Friday, although they do not have one with the green dial in stock. I absolutely love the watch, including the Everose and the gorgeous President bracelet. The most beautiful and comfortable bracelet I have ever tried. I already have the Olive Green dial on my OP34, so I know I will love it on the DD40, especially with the applied gold Roman Numerals. I was pleasantly surprised that the Everose did not appear as pink in real life as it does in some photos. It actually suits my skin tone better than the yellow gold watches that I have tried. A few pics of the two dials variants that I tried on, the Sundust with vertical stripe motif, and the Chocolate Brown with appled Roman Numerals:

These are both beautiful combinations, but the Olive Green dial is still the one for me. Just wanted to share my excitement, observations and experience with you guys. While my purchase is not imminent, it will just be a few months from now. And I am truly excited.

Cheers,
Carl

I want the same watch but in white gold. That dial is just gorgeous!

Exciting! I like that combination, too, though I wish it had a stick dial. For me, the white gold + black stick dial, oh man yes...

Nice choices Carl.

I am a fan for a Romans but they seem to get a bit lost on that dial.

The sticks with verticals look excellent.

Yes, I found the same with the chocolate brown dial. But my choice is the Olive Green dial, and there will be a lot more contrast. Also, on the Sundust dial with the baton markers, I found not enough contrast.

Love it as well and have been seriously considering it. My only reservation is that I have a few rose gold pieces including my recent ROO. I wish that olive face came w a yellow gold DD.

Have you ever seen the PM GMT with the green face? Beautiful watch in person, but I understand its not the DD 40

Yes, I have seen it, and it's gorgeous. Both the green dial and black dial yellow gold GMTs were on my list. The GMT is such a gorgeous watch, in all types of metal.

One of the main factors in my choosing the Day-Date is the beauty and comfort of the President bracelet, and it's improvements. I simply felt most comfortable wearing the DD40, just feels like it belongs on my wrist, as do my two OP34s. The DD40, after wearing it for almost an hour, actually feels more comfortable than the OP34.

For me, the DD40 is just more versatile. I will feel comfortable wearing it for any occasion, with any clothing, even very casual. I am even imagining it as one day possibly being my only watch.

This rosegold Day-Date really fits on your wrist and skintone as you said. Sundust and Olive IMO are good ones for you.

Great looking watch. I owned a RG Daytona and the metal did not work for me so I went back to YG. It is all about what you like and what works.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - because I'm afraid that combination does absolutely nothing for me whatsoever...

Ah man awesome watch and definitely a holy grail for me one day. I think I would get this in the rose gold over the yellow gold too!

Ethereal, eclectic, enigmatic and some other words starting with E that I don't really understand.

It's a real standout piece, maybe too much going on for me, I chose chocolate, but you should def go for it!

Maybe the second most beautiful watch...I'm going with the WG version as #1.

In all seriousness, in RG I love that chocolate dial with the Romans. That thing is...yummy.

Actually today I also tried this model. It has only one issue that bracelet is super tight and i would need additional 2-3 links.

Thanks. I am excited myself, and can't wait to get it!

I don't want to order it - even though it might take up to 3 months to get it - until my funds are in order. That may take a few more months. I'm not a wealthy guy, so it is a big expense for me. But I feel very fortunate indeed to be able to eventually afford my grail watch.

Looks great on your wrist. You must have a very large wrist. Mine is 7.25in. Fortunately, the DD40 fits perfectly as it is, so I neither have to take out any links nor add any.

Yes, it does look good enough to eat! I thought a lot about the white gold, as I thought the Everose might be too pink. However, I was very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful a shade it really is in real life.

And I already have the OP34 with the Olive Green dial which is stainless steel.

I'm glad OP you found the watch for you. It's a real stunner and I was debating between the rose and the white gold. Like you skin tone was the big consideration for me and as much as I liked the rose gold, my skin just couldn't cut it. Rose gold looks great on you though, look forward to seeing it on your wrist.
