Socialism, Third World, Danger, and Rolex 116610 LN

Hello friends.
In advance I apologize for my poor English.
I joined this forum in 2013 but I have never posted, although many days, many, I read them carefully and it is great for me to see their comments and photos. My love for Rolex was born at age 13, my father had a DateJust 1601, TT, Jubilee strap, BEAUTIFUL champagne dial; I saw him and really drove him crazy asking him to give me his watch, he did not take me seriously, I was a child, He tried to buy me with other watches, he even try with a tudor prince date, and I made him return it, I wanted his watch. I never asked for anything or was a spoiled child so I had to touch some fiber in which he felt it really was something I wanted with sincerity, so being in the living room of my father's house he came and said indifferently TAKE IT, I just service it to give it to you, and I handed the green bag of Rolex, inside was his Rolex 1601, now mine, I shouted and jumped for joy, I never adjusted the strap, I used it to the extent that my dad had it, and I It was very thin so the DJ came almost to the elbow and almost came out of my hand hahahaha. I swear, but I liked it that way, I did keep it for 7 years, imagine a child from 13 until 20 with a watch, I hit it, I bathed with it, I went to the pool, I did EVERYTHING with that watch, even motocross , and never failed. That experience made me know that a Rolex is forever, I was not marketing effect, and nobody told me it was a good watch, or that it was expensive, it was just my dad's watch and I wanted it, it was the watch which it proved to me that it was eternal, I did not take care of it. One day my father asked me to give him the watch that he would replace for another later, he had a business and needed that money, I was not able to say no, so I gave it to him, my only regret is that I did not I realized that this watch would be irreplaceable in sentimental value, but it was still my father who asked me. I stopped using Rolex and started using vintage omegas, a lot of omegas piepan that my dad had bought for a ridiculous sum to a watchmaker (then there was no internet and nobody knew what an old Omega was worth in my country) and he gave me some ten watches, so I exchanged them, and my love for the wristwatches in general was born, but those piepan were frequently fail, and I kept missing my Rolex, my dad honored his word a couple of years later and he gave me a GMT Master II,
TT, of those that now are worth a fortune, with indexes type nipples of woman, (I have a picture of me with that GMT but I do not know how upload here, please help me and I do) about 3 years later I sold it to open a business to a woman who left me for another, she took my honor and my Rolex hehehe. I was dreaming again for a Rolex, but it became financially impossible, I am not one of those who think as I read in this wonderful forum that you must have a fortune beforehand to have the right to buy a Rolex, not going, with my money I buy what I want, even more that I am single, I did not say alone hehehe said single. My rule is if what you take to the mouth and the ceiling where you sleep you pay for it without bothering anyone, then do with your real what you want, and I wanted a Rolex. I did not want an expensive car, nor a mansion, my beautiful house totally pays is enough, I wanted a Rolex, why? Man I do not know, I wanted a partner who marked with white gold hands and fidelity the hours of my life. A wonderful little machine that without batteries, current or electric power, but through the engineering of weights and counterweights, gave life to a ticking with an accuracy of more than 99 percent, to the falsity or relativity of time, and that It needs to be opened but every decade (if I know that every 5 years maximum, but I am a humble man, 10 is fine for me). What machine needs so little maintenance? There is no more perfect machine than the Swiss watch. In 1998 a socialist dictatorship was implanted in my country, the dollar went from Bs. 500 to Bs. 100,000,000. That is, the Rolex went from about 4,000,000 bolivares to cost 800,000,000,000 bolivares and I went on to win of 4 thousand dollars a month to earn 100 dollars a month. I had to abandon my hobby watch and settle for reading this wonderful forum with nostalgia. The idea of buying a Rolex step from difficult to impossible, was like imagining buying a Ferrari. I met with a lot of effort and privation 2 thousand dollars and buy a Seiko SBDX017, two years ago, one of the most beautiful watches I've ever had, that beautiful Japanese time machine. There is nothing wrong with that watch, everything from finishes to precision were perfect but I am an anonymous Rolexholic, a lover of the brand even before I knew it was a good brand. I decided to commit a madness, sold a few watches that I had left, as well as the MM300, and a second car that I always had in case the first one was damaged. Change it in dollars in cash in secret (in my country there is no free exchange, remember is communist), and give it to a friend who has a bank account in the USA, and I asked me to buy a Rolex 116610LN on Ebay for $ 6,900 It was published. To a private seller that had about 160 positive points. The watch described it as in excellent condition. My friend did me the favor of buying it and I sent it to a friend who resides in Miami, the watch took 3 weeks to get from LA to miami, because the seller refused to send it until PayPal freed the payment, I had to declare that I had already received, very scared I was sleepless several days, because that money was all the money I had, which broke the rule I read in this forum that one must have at least 100 thousand dollars to spend 8 on a clock, no man, no true for me. And I had read about many scams on ebay, I was also scared the possibility of receiving a fake. But it was my only alternative, so I take the risk. What a long days, finally the watch arrived in Miami and a sister of my friend was traveling to my country in November and I offered her 100 dollars to bring it to me because it is a risk to enter with that watch while the guards of the dictatorship can take it. In Miami refused (courriers) to bring me the Rolex because they said they would be steal and lose the money because I wanted it insured. I wait couple of months more, was November and my friend's sister arrived at the airport with the Sub, I waited at the exit door, when I saw her smile I knew that everything was fine. What HAPPY I WAS THAT DAY. My city become the sixth most dangerous city in the world, you can never put on a Rolex without risk of life. I know that all readers will say at this point that I am crazy, and yes, maybe a little, but how good! If I were sane, how unhappy my whole life would have been. I am not a materialistic man, but I detest socialism and I greatly enjoy seeing gold watches, platinum, beautiful collections, but I do not want any of that, I just want my steel Rolex Submarine watch, some jeans, my car and a beautiful feminine spirit next to me. When I saw the new Rolex SubC 116610LN, I was amazed, I had not seen it in the flesh, although in the past I had had in my hands a beautiful 16610, there is no comparison. The 116610 is a luxury watch, its solid strap with Glidelock, more robust case, maxi dial, an absolute black ceramic bezel. It is the perfect watch, which really surpassed my love for that DJ 36mm 1601 of my childhood. I loved the rolex with a bezel, but I did not like that they were scratched, now with the ceramic bezel it is perfect. From this 116610LN I have decided to be a man with only one watch, first because I can not buy another Rolex, and second because there is not one in the catalog that fills me up as the Sub. The Sub is with me 24/7, I even sleep with it because I get up very early for my work and I like to check at night the time, if it is not on my wrist it is hidden in my body somewhere, i hidden every time I walk on the street or go to a public place I hide it, but always with me because it is my partner but I can not show it in public for my safety and his. Some, my dear partner foristas, we live in the third world and we love this hobby and we are not willing to give it up even in these dreadful circumstances, because I detest the victims, I wanted my watch and I have it, when it was impossible, and I want to use it and use it wisely but always, as well as use my sbdx017 every day for almost 2 years. No one can accuse me of liking a Rolex so that others can see it and say WAO, no man if nobody sees it !!! It's my most beautiful secret! I just enjoy it and now you with this long story. Conclude, the wristwatch has a mystery for man, YOUR watch is something that goes beyond giving the time, it is a living entity poetically speaking, perhaps because its mechanism is similar to the human heart, I do not know, but YOUR watch is YOUR companion, and mine is this fabulous ROLEX, the only brand that exists for me, the others I admire as in dreams, in reality ONLY ROLEX.

Please note that the discussion of politics is not permitted on this website.

If anyone thinks that the first post entitles them to have a debate about politics they will be sorely mistaken, this includes abozz.

Great choice. The 116610LN is the single-watch choice to have.
I got mine three weeks ago and am loving it, especially the insane 0.0s/day average I've been measuring.

Glidelock is also great, I found myself using it at least two or three times per week. Really makes the watch totally comfortable and tasks 5 seconds to adjust.

Enjoy and show some photos... And good luck there, it hasn't been easy!

The OP needs to find the "Enter" key.

That would make reading his post far easier, if it were double spaced, as this one is.

There is no way I'm going to read that two foot long mass of letters.

I would note that for an only watch, the 116610LN is as good a choice as any, and maybe better than most.

Congratulations! The 116610 LN is the perfect Rolex. Iconic yet modern.

I understand the tough journey to owning one because it is always unavailable in stores. But your history and path to owning this is really heart-warming.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever. I am sure you will enjoy it for many, many years, my friend.

Cheers! (Dily dily!). I think the answer with AI coming is some sort of a basic income + the ability to venture on your own with limited regulation. Neither economic system is a one size fits all situation imho. (owner/mods: I am trying to discuss the economics not the politics.)

Interesting story. But why would someone who read the forum for 4 years buy a watch on eBay if they were going to be so worried about it.

What an amazing story. What an amazing life. You bought the perfect Rolex and please keep it forever.

A piece of advice: Use some paragraph breaks, double space between long sentences. You will want to make it easy for people to read your wonderful story.

"GMT Master II, TT, of those that now are worth a fortune, with indexes type nipples of woman"
delightfully poetic....but then my eyes hurt, so I had to stop....

I get the sentiment, but still, it's just a watch, not something that is really worth your life.

I just read your post and enjoyed it immensely. I agree with some of the others, there is some formatting you could do to help us understand and communicate with you...but it is a great story.

You, sir, are what Rolex ownership are all about. For those that are dismissing it because of the difficulty in reading, I'll take this post every single time over the "My AD said..." posts.

Congrats on a beautiful watch and may you wear it in the best of health in the coming days, my friend.

Unfortunately you only have 1 Hour to edit.

Don't worry about it, those who find it interesting will read it.

Besides, we have a moderator who does the same thing and nobody ever questions him.

What a story. I'm glad you finally got yourself another Rolex. You certainly have a passion for them. Congrats on a great watch, and stay safe.

I got mine three weeks ago and am loving it, especially the insane 0.0s/day average I've been measuring.

Glidelock is also great, I found myself using it at least two or three times per week. Really makes the watch totally comfortable and tasks 5 seconds to adjust.

Thanks!!

Enjoy and show some photos... And good luck there, it hasn't been easy!
I would like to post pic but all time the page says format is to big.

That would make reading his post far easier, if it were double spaced, as this one is.

There is no way I'm going to read that two foot long mass of letters.

I would note that for an only watch, the 116610LN is as good a choice as any, and maybe better than most.
Please make an effort!! hehehe

I understand the tough journey to owning one because it is always unavailable in stores. But your history and path to owning this is really heart-warming.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever. I am sure you will enjoy it for many, many years, my friend.
Thank you sir, is in my wrist right now and forever

Is true, my post is not political is my reality, is all.

Thnaks!

A piece of advice: Use some paragraph breaks, double space between long sentences. You will want to make it easy for people to read your wonderful story.
Sorry for the rude format.

Sorry sir, I try to edit but to late.

I get the sentiment, but still, it's just a watch, not something that is really worth your life.
Sir in my country you can die for a pair of shoes, and I still with a pair in my foots!

Thanks Sir

You, sir, are what Rolex ownership are all about. For those that are dismissing it because of the difficulty in reading, I'll take this post every single time over the "My AD said..." posts.

Thanks, I´m very sorry for the format.

Congrats on a beautiful watch and may you wear it in the best of health in the coming days, my friend.
You too sir!

An excellent post which I much enjoyed reading and let it be a warning to the UK as history does repeat itself!
