I know this is an old thread, so I apologize for resurrecting it. However, I felt the need to add a little bit more to my original post:

I gave the 6334 to my mom, since it was her dad and I felt the 34mm rose gold would look great on her. She wore it to visit her mom a few months ago who is 96 and battling a little dimensia. My mom asked her if the watch looked familiar. My grandmother studied the watch closely for about 30 seconds and replied, “Is that Jim’s Rolex??!!” My Mom told her it was and told her I’d had it restored. My grandmother laughed and told this story to my mom: “Your Dad and I were walking in downtown Panama City, Panama in 1955 or 1956. We passed a storefront with that watch in the window and your Dad said he just HAD to have it. I told him that we couldn’t afford it, but he wouldn’t backdown. I was mad for a few weeks about it, but he absolutely loved that watch.”

It made me smile that she has a tough time remembering things...but the story about the watch came out like it happened yesterday.

Thats a cool story. Great she could remember, I hope it lead to her remembering more great things about your grandpa.
The watch looks great by the way.
Thanks for sharing the story and update.
