Looking at this 1601 / 1974. No box or papers. Stretch looks good. Watch is in good order, from a seller I’ve bought from before. 3700 USD.

For a 1974 it looks really nice. The dial , date wheel and hands look nice. I think if you want to make it a 10/10, then if finished professionally the fluting maybe could be a little sharper on the bezel, and the brush work on the case more uniform in the correct direction. Hard to to tell much from these few photos, but it's a classic.

No idea if the price is good or not. If you are sure it isn't a Frankenstein I say go for it. It looks great!

Sigma Dial if I'm not mistaken. Beautiful timeless Rolex and still the bench mark for good watches 70 odd years after Rolex introduced the model. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Yes, nice omega dial at a good price. It looks like a good, honest piece. We havent seen the movement but if there is no corrosion around the movement then I wouldnt hesitate to pull the trigger.

A 36mm watch looks quite small on most 7.5" wrists. My wrist is 7.25 and I cannot get away with it even though I love most vintage 36mm pieces.

Respectfully disagree. It's about style, not necessarily about size. The look of a 36mm DJ has a very distinctive old-school look, especially when worn a little loose on the wrist with a Jubilee bracelet. I'm not suggesting it's for everyone, but the fact that it's not big by today's standards is exactly the appeal of it. Thank goodness Rolex still makes it at 36mm. It's one of the few men's Rolexes still in production that has retained its original size, from 1945.

Men's wrists aren't any bigger or smaller on average nowadays than they were in the 1940s, '50s, '60s, etc .... when the 36mm DJ was the quintessential Rolex. Not sure why some guys think it's too small today.

It's not 1945 last I checked... 39mm is the smallest I'll go so that it doesn't get confused for my wives timepiece.

I think the point is that it’s persisted 75 years and is still desirable and still looks sophisticated and understated. The jury’s still out on whether the dinner plate size is a good look or not. FWIW, I think it will go the way of square toed shoes.
