By Ferrari standards it’s ugly as sin but by my standards it’s a beaut

I like the name if nothing else.

I don't know if I love it. Or like it. Or hate it. What this does make me realize though, is that the days of gone, are truly gone for good.

Having gone public, it was only a matter of time until we got a Ferrari SUV....

Ferrari is dead, long live Ferrari.

Yeah, I somewhat agree that Ferrari has somewhat jumped the shark... or should I say, had absolutely no other choice but to sell out to survive.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone, but you can pretty much blame the E.U. and they're insanely restrictive policies. Which are probably good for everyone including our children. But I'm very selfish when it comes to cars... And am truly saddened by what is happening in the automobile industry.

It was just a matter of time. Business is business. It’s a hot segment and if they sell well, it will fund further supercar development. The Macan is Porsche’s best selling model. I’m sure it spins off cash in SUV loads to fund the awesome GT3s, etc.

That is one fugly car. Did they intentionally make it fugly so that people will know it's their hybrid?

I'd rather have the Cayenne Hybrid. Similar performance to the S, and doesn't lose the sexy lines.

"SUV" that costs $1+ in maintenance per mile and breaks all the time... Doesn't sound great.

SUV market is too hot to stay out of. Better segment than the sedan segment. If it weren’t for the SUVs Porsche released, who knows what Porsche would look like today as a company.

I don’t mind the looks but then again I am one of few that like the FF and GTC4 Lusso.

Yup.. and i tracked a vintage-ish Ferrari for a few years (Euro spec 308 GTS tweaked for durability and track use). Ferrari of today has zero to do with Enzo, or fine art, or handcrafting. Years ago i toured the factor before the change with trees inside, etc. You know, when they hand built engines, one guy doing an entire 12 cyl...

Ah well boys, reminds of Patek Philippe. Only vintage examples are the true insperation in....

Ferrari (yeah!)
Hybrid (wait, what?)
SUV (what the ....)

And then moved on.

Looks like a stretched GTC4 Lusso.

Stretched 911 —> Panamera.

Totally misnamed.

The Italian for Purosangue = Thoroughbred in English.

My new name would be:
Arare il Cavallo = Plow Horse

Reminds me of an old saying -
just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

I wonder if they even have a choice. I think it's about survival at this point. I just read that VW and Porsche have cars parked all over the EU because they can no longer get them into France and a few other EU countries due to some new testing regulation. I'll try and find the article but it's pretty alarming to say the least. I think some of the expectations now required are harming their own economy.
