I thought long and hard about the automatic version, but it's just a little too spendy for what I want to pay for a Seiko right now. The SBBN line is highly regarded and the quartz movement inside is supposedly one of the most robust of its kind. A mechanical version was going to cost me around $2000; the spring drive version was over $3000. This was a bit under $750 and worth every penny. The automatic variety doesn't hold its value nearly as well. Just some things to think about - don't poo-poo it because it's a quartz.

Nothing wrong about quartz, especially when it is MM

Thanks, mate! It's the classic 6138 0040 Seiko Bullhead chronograph dating from 1977. A high quality chrono movement w/ column wheel and vertical clutch construction [whatever the hell that means].

Picked this one up, couldn't resist it at $110. I bet it will look stunning on an olive green NATO!

It is a fantastic watch. Light but tough. No sharp edges. Amazingly detailed finishes. The dial is a very deep black that looks amazing. I don't think there is a better diver for the money.

I'm loving this Seiko Tuna so much that I ordered a Darth Tuna last night. It will be a couple of weeks until it arrives most likely, but I'll be sure to post some pics when it does.
The Tuna really fits my personality and it's hard not to love. I'd go with the automatic "Emperor" but it's just too tall for my liking.

I also ordered a Sumo recently - got a great deal - so I'll post pics of it as well. Not sure if I'll love it or not, but it's pretty easy on the wallet and easy to resell.
